Would love to know what Turnbull is thinking....he must be considering the possibility he has just made the biggest mistake of his life by turning down Celtic. He is a 19 year old with good potential but there have been many 19 year olds like him that have never made it at the top level. Celtic put in a generous £3 million bid and offered him good wages. We did our bit, Lawell and the board cannot be held responsible for the deal collapsing on this occasion. It remains to be seen if Turnbull will regret this for the rest of his life.

Although I have to say this is a rather depressing start to the transfer window and it just seems Celtic make hard work of every transfer. It would be nice to wake up one day to find Celtic had signed a quality player. No hassles, no squabbling over a couple of grand, no drawn out transfer talks, no waiting till the window is about to close...just a get in and get it done job for once would be nice.

Can't imagine Motherwell will be to happy with him either. I'm not overly arsed he was hardly a marquee signing

Don't see us getting anyone in tbh, maybe a sympathy loan from Man City and Izaguirre again.

Norwich have had a bid accepted supposedly.

Looking like we’ve said we pulled out of the deal to try and save face.

    Wit a farce.

With the way we conduct our transfer dealings, you could be forgiven for thinking we’re the club that was actually liquidated and forced to reform into a structure with limited capabilities.

Honestly don't care we have pulled the plug. I'm sick of projects or youngsters with potential. Put the cash towards an experienced player that could walk right into the first team.

Norwich have had a bid for David Turnbull accepted by Motherwell as the midfielder closes in on switch to Premier League.

Celtic pulled the plug on their pursuit of 19-year-old after refusing to meet the player's wage demands and he now looks set for a move to Carrow Road

Record Sport understands the Scotland U21 will travel south on Wednesday to discuss terms with Daniel Farke's side.

Parkhead chiefs had already agreed a £3.25million fee with Well and hoped the player’s agent would have a change of heart after issuing a take-it-or-leave it ultimatum last Friday over a four-year contract worth an initial ten grand per week.

Turnbull’s representative insisted his charge could get more down south but also wanted certain assurances over first team opportunities with Celtic .

But Record Sport understands neither party are willing to budge – forcing the Hoops to officially withdraw their interest and move on to other targets.

Toss that £3m into whatever other fund there is set aside for a CB amd get big Jullien signed, we've got enough midfielders anyway ffs!

My guess is Celtic thought we will give them one last chance, any more silly buggers then we go to the next player. Glad we didn't give him 20k, we need to use that money on quality.

Norwich have one of the best DOF’s about.

Doubt you’ll see them getting the run around from him and his agent for a week or so.

Norwich in the picture gives us the real landscape.

    Player/ agent behave like wanks

Celtic tell player/ agent to wise the * up

Player/ agent threaten celtic with other interested parties

Celtic say take it or leave it...publically

Player/ agent panick when no interest materializes. Return to negotiations with celtic.

Player/ agent learn of norwich bid. Attempt to bully Celtic into conceeding.

    Celtic say * off.

Player goes to norwich, sits on his hole for next 2 years. Agent pockets tidy fee.

    Celtic "move on".

Ahhh the wonders and glories of celtics transfer windows.
