If the door hasn't been firmly slammed shut by Celtic then its embarrassing.

We have given him more than enough time. At this stage I would rather sign nobody than him due to the outrageous way he's dealt with us

Based on Browns comments I think he’s in talks again, several sources saying he wants the move here and was still on holiday not in contact with his agent while he * about with Celtic and went to Sheffield for an offer.

He’s back in Scotland now, expect an outcome by Friday at the latest.

Dinner time tomorrow or forget it, not much to think about and only dragging it to use us as leverage...we should have told him to do one as soon as it was apparent that his holiday was more important than his next career move

Captain Scott Brown has warned Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull that he cannot join a club like Celtic and expect to be playing every week.

The 19-year-old rejected a contract offer from the Scottish champions after a £3m transfer was agreed.

Turnbull is keeping his options open and it is believed he will choose the club best for his football development.

"I don't think anyone is going to get in their contract that they will play 100% of the games," Brown stressed.

"For me, you have to come in to a club and earn that respect and that responsibility to put that jersey on. Especially at a club like Celtic."

Brown said his motivation for joining Celtic from Hibernian instead of moving to English football in 2007 had more to do with his desire for football success.

"There's a reason I didn't go down the road at the time, but everyone's reasons are different," the 33-year-old said.

"I had a hunger to come here and win trophies. I got a little bit of that at the end of my last season with Hibs in the League Cup and I wanted more."

Brown said that Turnbull would "be welcomed by every single person in that changing-room" should he eventually sign for Celtic.

"He's a fantastic young player," he said. "He'd be a great fit and if he does come here then it will be fantastic for us because he's very young and I'm sure he'll be willing to learn as well.

"For me, personally, it will be great to have another Scottish player coming in and seeing what he can do."

If he comes and turns out to be a useful signing, does it really matter if it's tomorrow or three days after.

Tbh, I'd be prepared to wait until Friday. To me that isn't too long.

But if this starts dragging into weeks, there has to be a cut off point.

I was in that boat as well before this saga but because of the way it's gone....I think it needs to be wrapped up quickly now..

We've had a lot of bodies going out, Lenny just in and wanting to get his own player's, back training already, qualifiers almost upon us..

We need to start getting the ball rolling. Turnbull in tomorrow would kick us off..

My approach went from great, to * him, as I started to think his attitude was off. Now, I'm willing to give him a little more benefit of the doubt. Wanting to play, over more pay, is an admirable stance - if true. Not too many with that attitude nowadays. But, he also needs to grasp that no-one is guaranteed a spot at clubs like us... It's earned! And bigger and more developed players have fallen foul of it...

From what I’m reading he wants the top money & the play time. Or have I missed something?

I've No idea what he wants... only read that he'd advised his agent that game time and development meant more than a wage bump. All rumour though, so no idea if that's true

It does. Our incompetent board and scouting team are hardly capable of handling more than one negotiation at once. We are three weeks away from the european qualifiers and as things are we are going to play with Ralston and Hayes as full backs and Hendry as the only defensive player in the bench. Our priority instead was adding another midfielder to the pile just because he was cheap and easy to get. The earlier we move on from this to players we actually need the better
