A lot of negotiating, not just with clubs but with sponsors. A lot of meetings, and probably a lot of PR work regarding their players. According to Peter Crouch, some players use their agents for everything from buying gifts for the player’s GF/wife, to helping them find somewhere to live. So it probably isn’t the easy pay day most imagine, though it is lucrative if you get the right player(s).

 

Celtic should just walk away...players and Agents need to know we will not be * about......with any luck no one will come in for him and he can carry on playing in Europe with murderwell.

This is all about bringing attention , Celtic were under pressure to ensure the player is signed for manager and fans alike , unfortunately the board not wanting to appear as though they didn't go all in for the player with terms offered , have come out and shown fans that there is more at hand here than a straight forward deal , this has played into the hands of these clowns who act in their interests and not so much the players , and brought attention to the requirements and given the player headlines.
Now this tells you a few things , the player is not taken by being a Celtic player and it doesn't matter wot team offer the best deal for him , this deal is dead as now the player looks greedy and not flattered by a club like Celtic coming in for him ,.
Maybe we couldn't also give guarantees he will play , but for sure he would be starting his career at celtic on the back foot and under pressure and scrutiny , the deal should be withdrawn from Sunday as it's already became a * fest of arrogance from his team , I agree the club are right to walk away and back this 100% go for more experience and make it a bigger better player so the media cant ram "wot coulda been "down our throats every game played , the facts all along were Motherwell and the player would prefer a move south as long as they get the 3 mill and the best wage levered out any club .

Is it beyond the realms that the daft agent has shot his load and Celtic have called his bluff and released that statement?

I think there is a fair chance Turnbull will be on the phone to his agent asking him * he is doing.

 

It sounds like the club have just had enough of the agent, probably dealt with him a few times and this/Armstrong deal have been the final straw.

Saying that, could see the initial offer being closer to 5k than 10k.

 

We shouldn't be held to ransom 3m is a big price and if he ain't willing to take 20g a week we should forget about him and move on.
He's been playing for 1 year for fk sake he's not proved himself yet!

Good on Celtic for calling the agent out hopefully they will be blackballed by other clubs as they know they will be shafted also

 

We need to actually walk away otherwise the threat and others in the future are meaningless. Give him until Monday and then just cut all ties or offer the * a grand less!

 

Would love it if we drop the offer and Murderwell get offered a maximum of £1m for Turnbull and refuse it and then Turnbull sacks his agent for being such a greedy *.

20k is that seriously what we offered???

If that is true then I think we are wrong for offering that sort of wage to a 19yr old with 32 senior games to his name for motherwell and furthermore Turnbull is an even bigger eejit for turning down that sort of wage offered by Celtic.

 

I understood it as the agent wants 20k. We apparently offered 5 figures so 10k plus

He's only played 1 season, never mind 1 good season. Anything over 10k is too much for a youngster like this.

 

This could back fire big style on Murderwell. If we walk away no team is going to come in and match our offer of £3M. Murderwell making statements about accepting the offer, sounds like they were already out spending it!!. It is embarrassing for them, and the players agent will frighten other teams off as he is obviously difficult to work with. The only way I can see us resolving this is for the lad himself to accept the deal, make a statement it was all the agent then sack him. If not accepted by Monday, we withdraw our offer and walk away. This one is not the boards fault, although the statement was a bit cringeworthy, we are right to call this agent out.
