Whether or not the tweets were needed, him and his agents are beyond deluded if they think they were getting that sort of money from us. 10K was already fairly generous, and i'd say the club are 100% in the right here.

In all walks of life when you are changing job you move for better money let’s not kid ourselves but this boy is on £800 a week and has been offered £10k a week!

 

Not a chance will any English club offer him 20k a week certainly not Barnsley. English football may be blown up with money but championship clubs still need to watch what they’re spending and 20k a week is money you’d give to a player within the championship who’s proven to do a job

 

The deal from what I read was for £2.8m upfront and £450k in very achievable add ons. With the potential or a Celtic player or two on loan so in total I reckon £3.5m all in I don’t think they will get that cash from England myself.

We are the right step for him at this point in his career, * he could prob even do with another season at Motherwell. If he came here on good money proved himself for a few seasons, won honours, (probably earning a bigger deal from us along the way) then like others have done he could move down there for the big bucks and he'd still be very young. If he moves to a mid table Championship side he could quite well fade away. Players that come through us most certainly leave us with an enhanced pedigree and reputation. No doubt for me he's been badly advised but i guess time will tell.
