I think the Celtic tweet suggests that's exactly what we will or won't be doing!

It's an unusual feeling when it isn't the club that * the deal...

Can’t see anyway it goes through now.

We’ve essentially made the player and his agents villains.

Well judging by their portfolio they are hardly Micky Mouse, Andy Robertson for starters!!

Clearly they have been behind many Scottish players going south and are probably looking to ideally do the same with Turnbull....purely based on finances

    Just can't get enough
I though he looked OK more than descent and I'd take him at 3m, but I'd also like to see Henderson get a run, I'm not up to date with the news of today, anyone for link to the club statement, and what is the story with the player

Unless we're making it blindingly obvious to him and his agent that we're being serious when we say that this is the best deal. Take it or leave it.

I wouldn't rule it out but it would be a * of a surprise if it does go through now after what has been said and the demands made.

Celtic are being held to ransom by his agents for several reasons. Firstly as a club we have raised our transfer dealings to a very high standard compared with the rest of the league. We are now consistently looking to receive 7 million + for our players but remember we fine tune them and give them European competition at a high level and most of our players turn out for their country. So in this respect we are being held to ransom for our success in closing deals.

Next his agent is playing sneaky and knows how we lost out on the McGinn deal and using that to have the upper hand. He also knows Motherwell as good as rubber stamped the transfer yesterday and possibly believes that Lawell won’t leave the club red faced by dropping the deal. Throw in the leaked paperwork and losing Dembele and Rodgers they think they can play hard ball. His agency obviously have such confidence they will get what they want that they are prepared to gamble with a young lads career and chance to develop. The tweets are petty but Celtic have not released them without thinking about the next step and the benefits of keeping the fans updated, something you always hear from a section of our support. The deal was offered and they turned it down twice. Let them go and deal elsewhere and the board will have our backing. After all the lad is no Paul Slane and look what happened there.

Don’t get why we aren’t withdrawing the offer. I’d tell him where to go if he’s looking for between 15k-20k. 10k at the very max for a player of his profile.

It’s David Turnbull of Motherwell ffs. But, he might get it in England as England is a basket case of a footballing country in relation to money so good luck to him.

But, I don’t want him crawling back to us if he doesn’t get what he wants from England.

They'll be a time frame, no doubt.

The guy isn't even at the club and he is already a Boyata. We already have an issue with too many unmotivated guys who don't seem to be doing their best. I really dont care how promising and "exciting" this guy is, and I might be the minority but half a good season for a bottom 6 SPFL side is not a good reason to throw 3 million quid around.

I am one of the most critical guys of the board here but I really cannot fault them this time around. They did what they were asked to, they found a target, they threw the money at him, they did not hide what happened.

I think they will be shiteing it right now, we are the only club that’s made an offer good enough for them to accept and his agent has * it.

I bet I’m the end they end up taking a lower offer when we pull out and they will be the ones that lose out.

Have to feel for them because an agent has * them out of a cracking deal.

I think we have dodged bullet.

I agree we are in an awkward position and they know it.
On the keeping fans informed; I wouldn't mind them saying that they cant come to an agreement but they have left it open and on the table. The petty bits just looks so embarrassing and bad.

A bit disappointed that it doesn't look like he is coming to us.

Moving to the likes of Barnsley at his stage of career is a fair risk and could spend the rest of his days floating about the lower leagues if he doesn't become a stand out performer.

If he came here and continued good form made the first team then there will be Premier league clubs in for him in the future.

Clubs will be looking at the success of Andy Robertson plus the likes of VVD etc

Agents will just be interested in who they can take the biggest cut from.

So has another team came in with a better offer ? I thought we were the only club that offered Motherwell there asking price . His agent might be telling him he can get better money in england but if they dont meet the transfer fee he is fkd

    * him let him go to a team fighting relegation, if he wants to come hel tell the agents to * off, highly rated but bad career move if he moves down south imo
