Thought i would post this just for comparison with Real paying him approximately 17k a week with Turnbo wanting a higher wage depending on what post you read.



Real Madrid have signed Japanese teenager Takefusa Kubo - describing him as "one of the most promising young players in the world".

The midfielder will join Real Madrid Castilla, the club's reserve team.

Kubo, 18, is on duty at the Copa America with Japan, for whom he made his international debut on 9 June against El Salvador.

Madrid will pay 2m euros (£1.78m) to Japanese top-flight side FC Tokyo for the player, reports Marca.

Kubo was on Barcelona's books from the ages of nine to 13 but had to return home when the Spanish club were found guilty of youth transfer breaches and given a transfer ban.

Madrid are reported to have offered the teenager a five-year contract worth 1m euros (£890,000) a year.

They described Kubo as "an attacking midfielder with excellent technique and great vision for the game".

He has played 13 times for FC Tokyo in 2019, scoring four goals.

 

I'll be raging i we dont complete this....

 

Maybe because as soon as its reported or via agents we are interested it alerts teams south of the border and it starts a bidding/wage war that we cannot win most of the time?

 

I have no proof to back this up but I'm guessing this is the experienced Agent persuading the 19 year old kid to hold out for higher rather than the 19 year old kid playing for motherwell telling us to GTF, the agent probably didn't expect Celtic to go public so it puts him in an awkward position with both parties now

 

Can’t believe this , thought great , spending some money and doing some business early and then push on and sort defense. Shouldn’t be held to ransom by his agent though

 

Could be that, but if he doesn't sack the agent, Turnbull isn't interested in going to Celtic. He might be a Motherwell fan, but who's to say he doesn't also have a liking for Rangers?

 

Sorry but if it is true he is looking for around £20k a week that’s more than KT is on and Lustig was on ffs!

 

Aye, there’s no chance Turnbull is sitting there clueless.

 

You’re 19, realise that one season doesn’t justify 20k a week or anything near it.

If it’s your agent, sack him.

 

This obviously isn't just his agent ffs its clear Turnbull is unhappy with the terms if thats indeed what the issue is, Turnbull isn't gonna be sat there letting his agent dictate everything and potentially ruining a move for him he will of been kept informed of proceedings

 

That's a risk we take but getting in the best Scottish talent isn't something we should stop looking to do

£20k a week is about 4 times as much as I’d be willing to pay him

 

Wow.. Football is all about money these days.. His agent doesn't care, what's best for his developement, the only thing he cares about is, where he/the player can make the most money.. Absolutely disgusting!

 

That might have been more normal 25 years ago.

 

He isn't getting 20k a week at any of the clubs listed as interested in him.

Seems like a team of agents you may want to steer clear of dealing with.

 

What would you consider normal for a guy who’s had a good half season with Motherwell and would likely be a backup player for us, albeit with potential?

 

If the reports are true and it’s 20k a week his agents want for him then pull the plug.

I wouldn’t even say the offer is still there if that’s the case! That’s * horrendous if the reports are true.

People are blaming the agent which is understandable, but the reality is agents only act in the players interest. If he wasn’t acting in turnbull’s interest, he would quickly find another who was.

It some 6 year old kid with no idea what they’re doing. He’s almost 20 and will have told his agent exactly what his priorities are.
