The deal might not be dead yet so let’s wait and see. Personally I’d like a resolution and we get him. I think the agent is responsible for this. If Turnball wants to sign he will.....he might speak to English clubs and not fancy it. Barnsley ffs

I’m normally one to slate the powers at be at the club for * up transfer deals ext.

I canny believe I’m gonna say this but I'm backing the powers this time. Even the tweet.

Damned if they do Damned if they don’t with this, Motherwell made it public and The club have called the agents bluff.

Now it would be interesting to see what the club has offered, if the reports are true and we have offered 10k a week and they have knocked it back then I’m all for us pulling the plug.

Let him go to another side, he is not worth anymore and if I’m honest 10k is too much to be fair.

This transfer has been made public from Motherwell and we have had to comment now, I’m glad they did call the agents bluff.

Now go out and get that big * fae France with the Turnbull money

Disappointing if this doesn't go through. I'm not commenting on the breakdown until all is out in the open!

I’m glad the club has come out and said something, the agent has waited till the deal with nearly completed and then moved the goal posts.

The club has called the agents bluff, let’s see if they accept if not then we move on.

Bravo Celtic after the mcguinn fiasco and no one knowing exactly what was going on, its good to see the club being transparent with this. Yeh it might not be the done thing but at least as fans we know exactly where we are with this transfer

I meant the number of games. If Turnbull is so much worse than Ntcham was then (when Ntcham was pretty much the same age as Turnbull), then why are we prepared to pay a similar transfer fee?

Ntcham had a better pedigree, sure, but we must rate them similarly as prospects.

Forget Ntcham: Robertson left Dundee United for £3m, having moved there from Queens Park. In hindsight, would you have been content to miss out on him over similar wage demands?

Motherwell could refuse to sell him to anybody else if they offer less than £3m.
Also think the agent probably has nobody else of note so is trying to get his only likely cash in. When players like Allen was apparently on 8k and Hendry on 6.5k a week I am sure Celtic would have offered him minimum 8 more likely 10k with a better contract in a year if he succeeds. I don't think Barnsley will better it.

Well I stick to my guns, way too much money, its laughable for any McGinn comparisons, he had nearly 200 games under his belt.

I'd like him but still think its too much for a guy with 1 season under him, McGinn I was angry about but not this one if it indeed does fall through.

Nah I don't think so. Scepovic done something similar I'm sure, and he is universally loved by every Celtic fan.

If I was a 19 year old playing for Motherwell n a team the size of Celtic came in for me the last thing I’d be doing would be trying to squeeze as much money out of it as possible. That tells you one of two things; either he’s an *, or his agent’s an even bigger * taking a young lad and the biggest club in the country for a ride.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings, maybe the club’s just trying to call the agent’s bluff

Hendry was 23 with only one full season behind him. A couple of years with less than 10 games previous to that.
We paid just over a mill & gave him 6.5 a week.
Turnbull is 19 with one season behind him. A much more spectacular season granted, but still only 1. A 3 mill bid & plus a 10k a week offer is probably a reasonable assuption comparitively speaking. In my eyes 10k would be fair.
I think the deal is dead now tho.

I don't know what to think anymore, I always thought we were a very well run club behind the scenes, was willing to give Lawwell the benefit of the doubt due to our healthy bank balance. But we've been looking very shoddy for close to a year now.
I do think the tweet does more harm than good if there was still a chance the deal could go through.

We need more urgency in recruitment.
It's the hope that kills you isn't it? Every * window recently.

I pretty much feel the same, I was gutted when we didn’t sign McGinn, wouldn’t be bothered if this falls through.

Not a fan of airing the club's transfer grievances on social media. :43:

I’ll never forget him. Big fella we signed whilst we left Andrej Kramaric outside in the * rain in the meantime.

Another classic in the Celtic textbook of transfer negotiation techniques.

Motherwell and the agent started, Celtic had to respond. They had to say "alright Billy big Turnbulls if you think you're that good * off"

This in a nutshell. I said last week about this. Far too premature to be spending £3m on a player who is 19 and has been playing first team football for around 6 months.

It’s more concerning for me that we weren’t willing to spend that type of money on McGinn who was far more proven.
