And if the deal fell through without the club commenting on why, then the same * would be on here greetin’ about a lack of communication with the fans.

    * off and ‘support’ another club!

I think that £15,000 a week is excessive, but it is the going rate for a £3m+ player these days. We must be overpaying for him if we think that he is incapable of justifying such a wage.

They must've walked away for good to get a tweeted response like that, no?

If they were negotiating or at a cross roads then we'd still be talking and no rushing in to tweeting that?

Can't see the deal being done at all now..

Not even really bothered by this. Didn't want to be negative when it looked like he was signing but I don't think he's technically good enough to justify £3m. I think there are better options out there.

This is a cracking point! I mean we were paying Scott Allen 8k per week and christ knows what commper will be on. I do think the agent is at fault here though. How many times did the tweet mention "agent"

Our transfer fee was accepted. The only other money on the table was wages/bonuses. You said we have a track record in derisory wage offers. I asked who.

Nothing clever about it (me or the question)

If you ‘support’ the way our board conduct and report our transfer business then you’re part of the problem. Sausage.

I don't see the need to put out a 'statement' on Twitter addressing this? It looks a wee bit small-time.

Everyone already knew Motherwell accepted a bid so it was obvious we would have made an offer. If the agent then decides to offer the player to clubs down South for more money I suppose that's his prerogative. It's not nice, but it happens and there isn't really much we can do about it. It's not like the McGinn situation which was handled badly, we've done our business in the right way this time it seems.

Sours the taste big time if he does end up signing now. Don't see it anymore though.

The experience isn’t even nearly similar, Serie A and French under 21 compared to a season in the SPFL. Honestly?

There’s every chance we are, but it should also noted that high transfer fee doesn’t necessarily equate to high wages.

£3m isn’t small change for us or anything close tbh. It’s a * of a lot to spend on a prospect. Typically when we sign someone domestically it’s the case that they’ve been around for few years and done the business consistently over that time. It’s largely my own ignorance, but if you had asked me who Turnbull was a few weeks ago I would’ve had no idea. Very different from the likes of Brown, McGinn, Armstrong, GMS and even the likes of Pearson, Wilson before them, all of whom I was very aware of. That doesn’t mean he’s bad though.

I think they’ll struggle to get £3m for him from other buyers in all honesty.
