    Ajer interviewed by Norwegian Tv2:

    - Do you feel that you are starting to outgrow the Scottish league?

    - No. I play in one the biggest clubs in the world, I play at Celtic park and I have big ambitions with Celtic. I have a three years long agreement, so there is no stress at all. I am unbelievable satisfied with being at Celtic.

It's the coolest season I've ever been to. It's been a dream season. Both for me and the whole player group, really, says Ajer to TV 2.

The middle stopper from Rælingen was winning three trophies, and joined the year's team in the Scottish league.

The road from success in Scotland to Premier League football has on many occasions proved to be short.

But Ajer suggests he'll stay in Celtic for so long.

Do you feel like you're starting to grow from the Scottish league?

    - No. I play in one of the world's biggest clubs, play at Celtic Park and have great ambitions with Celtic. I have a three year deal, so there is no stress at all. I'm incredibly happy to be in Celtic, he says firmly.

    The amazing talent
With him on the team, he recently received the English-Scottish great talent Karamoko Dembélé.

In 2016, Dembélé became an internet phenomenon when he already ravaged Celtics U20 teams as a 13-year-old. That Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was so impressed that he let the teenager train with the first team, and was quick to predict that Dembélé had a great future in the Scottish big club.

Right at the end of the season, the now 16-year-old dribble got the debut for Celtic's first team. He got almost a full turn when Hearts was beaten 2-1, and showed off some of the dribbles perturbation.

He's a huge talent. 16 years, and half as tall as me, laughing tall Ajer laughs before he follows up:

    - He's amazing footstep and good with the ball.

However, he will not compare the super talent with Martin Ødegaard, who also played first team football at a very young age.

    - They are slightly different player types. He is a more dribbling one-on-one edge, while Martin was huge in the space and hit good punches. They are a little different, but he is a crazy great talent, as Martin was, praising the national team profile.

    Not talking to Rodgers
Midway through the season, the midfielder was through a coach change. Brendan Rodgers was picked up by Leicester and Neil Lennon took over. Eventually also on a permanent basis.

Ajer has only good things to say about his former boss.

    - I had a very good and professional relationship with him. He was a wonderful good trainer, whom I learned a lot from. Then Neil Lennon has come in and been wonderful to us. It is a very exciting time in the meeting with Celtic, he believes.

    - Are you still in contact with Rodgers?

    - No. It has of course been very small since he has moved on to a new club and we have got a new coach, Ajer points out.

He fits the mould of a Celtic player to a tee. Would love him to stay and become a club legend, early days in his career thought and there’s going to be big money bid for him in the next 2/3 years.

Bang on cue the media in Scotland run with

“Lagerback claims Ajer would be better to leave Scotland to improve”

The same lagerback who depended on Henrik Larson who played in Scotland!

While the run with Croatia under 21 boss claims Katic is making a name big name for himself at huns

He wasn't all that wrong. The media just spun it incredibly negatively. What a surprise...

He said that his development wasn't being stunted in Scotland but that he might develop quicker at a club in a better league as you have to be on your toes all the time. He might be right, might be wrong, but it wasn't an unfair comment.

He is the type of player who I can see becoming in the mold of a Lustig someone from outside who grows to love the club and gets who we are and ends up staying long term. Can see him becoming one of the real leaders of the team in the coming years as well. One of my favorite players on the team and so much more to come from him as he grows as a player given he is still only 21.

Definitely not unfair although I can't help thinking the question might be. Would he be asked a similar question if Ajer was playing in the EPL? I mean we do offer European experience every season albeit at different levels but it's incredibly important for the development of a guy who looks destined to be something very special whether it's here or somewhere else. One of these days his incredible runs forward are going to bear fruit and we'll see the total footballer.

I'm sure defenders reach their potential much later than every other position due to the critical nature of being the last line?

What a * handsome team we have.

Either big black and french or a decent jaw line, flowing locks or decent set of knashers!

Must be the marketing teams wet dream!
