Its alright though Adam Mathews has been released by Sunderland so we've got his replacement lined up

You do know 'on paper' we're expected to get there per the seeding?? As a 3rd pot team as well I believe should we qualify. Back in the real world we have a board sitting on a comparatively fair amount of cash but again appear to be loathed to part with anything other than * coppers. so I get what you're saying. I'm not looking for mega bucks but surely a wee bit of speculate to accumulate and a wee CL qualification would more than pay for itself. Their short sightedness * beggars belief sometimes. Last summer been a prime example although the snakes behaviour let them away with that to an extent

I'm just glad I don't think it as large a task to qualify as some before a balls been kicked.

As said on here already....* the board!! I'll hopefully retract that later if they give me reason to but it's early yet.

Think he could still have done a job as a back up and squad player mate.

Don't really take too much notice of seeding mate if I'm honest. It obviously helps us on some level when draws are made, but our away form in europe, especially in the qualifiers can level that out. Some horrendous performances at B'er Sheeva and Astana and even Red Imps don't inspire confidence. The champions route can undoubtedly give us an easier path, and I 100% agree with a bit of investment we should be getting in there.

It looks like he was told we were giving him another year and either offered buttons or withdrew the offer altogether.

Would have been a decent back up to gave around but hes needed replaced for a while now.

Either way... poor from the club, and on par with what has been an utter * at recruitment level for 2 years now. Mikel should never been in this position nevermind having it play out in the last weeks of his wonderful career here.

Great servant had so many great moments while he was here and bowed out on a high but it's the right time for him to leave.

he was a fine player but his time was up ages ago ,was brutal in the European games . now any club with a decent rb has us over a barrel safe in the knowledge we are desperate for one

Who was it said about knowing the city? Or what context was it used? At least the cops don’t have to wear their hat straps under their chin now. Every cloud.:39:

Was my favourite player during the first 4 of the 8. But It's the right time. Theres no way around it. A competent right back in and we'll be much improved down the right.

Despite being a liability for huge portions of this season and last, Lustig has been a tremendous Celtic player and I'm sad to see him go. Even sadder that the board * around with him and didn't give him the respect he so clearly deserved, being here for all 8 titles in a row and winning 16 trophies altogether. That really is a remarkable achievement and it's very plain to see that he's a winner and someone who has had such a profound effect on the team. More than that, he loves Celtic to the core and had so much personality both on and off the pitch. All of these attributes will be sorely missed and I think it's a complete failure by the board if they didn't even attempt to offer him a deal to keep him as a rotational player for the next season or two, especially considering how ridiculously bare we are in defense.

PL listed it as one of the reasons that NL got the permanent gig

'He's a Celtic man. He knows Glasgow'

'He knows the club inside out. He knows the city. He knows what's required'

Ahhh. I actually read that at the time Bobo but didn’t actually take it in. Think I’m still a bit miffed by it all,and not directed at Lenny, but the mediocrity our board have shown in the run up to what could amount to a real historical period in our clubs history. Just seems at times we are giving the filth oxygen to live on.

You know you're a Celtic great when the club shove you out the back door after offering you a pittance.

Think it's about the same as the wonder boy Kent :56:.

I hope they * a lot of money on him.

Anyway, Lustig has been a big player for us and he can leave with his head held high. Fell in love with the club and gave his all.

    Thank you:ynwacelti
