KT odds on to join Arsenal 4/6 :87: Might be worth a bet against on the exchange :celt_2:

If we can sell Tierney for £20 million+ and replace him with a bosman or Man City development player then that is good business sense for the PLC.

There's a few clubs with money who really need a LB atm, his injury and surgery could be blessing now in that regard, timing wise.

We only got 20 million for Dembele, a forward, so chances are we wont get as much for KT, unless he is on a 5/6 year deal. Anyway it's not as though its gonna happen right enough, well unless KT himself decides it's time to move on til then I won't * the bed.

He's not like your Wanyamas/Van Dijk/Dembele though that would potentially rock the boat if we rejected an offer. He's a die-hard that loves playing for our club.

He's on a long contract and any money taken in wouldn't be reinvested back in the playing squad. If the board punt him it'll be the end of them.

    Doubt it mate.

KT bleeds green and white. Our board wouldnt have much difficulty in having the boy release a wee statement saying it was the best thing for his career and he'll be back and blah blah blah.

and our fans will swallow it too.

You think KT, if being sold against his will, would release a statement saying he wanted to go? And that we would all swallow it? :giggle1:

You wouldnt swallow it though would you, you're far too evolved for that.

Not to get too romantic but it would be surprising if he asked to leave while we still have a chance at 10iar.

I don't think that would be the case. It would possibly work for a Dembele/Van Dijk etc. who has no affinity for the club but not Tierney. We don't need to sell, we're sitting on a pile of cash that we're not spending as it is. There will be riots.

Theres been a pile of cash there for 3 seasons mate, and KT would never, ever do anything to hurt the club. Any bid over 20m and i think hes away.

Money almost always seems to be the sole deciding factor in what happens with players these days. But for me there is no doubt Tierney is one of us and I can easily see him being here for the long term in the manner of Scott Brown. He is the obvious successor to Brown as captain when it comes time for Brown which given his age will be sooner rather then later. Yes he would be turning down serious money to stay long term at Celtic but it is not like he would not be among our highest paid players and still able to make millions playing for us. Just not as many millions as elsewhere.
