Exactly! We command top dollar for our players so why shouldn’t another club. We need to go get this boy because if we keep * about he will be gone.

Statistics do two things, make folk think ffs I did not know he was that good/bad or wonder are they relating to the same thing?

I thought McGinn was a potential DM kind of player, didn't ever think he was attacking. I just guessed Turnbull was more attacking mid?

John McGinn Lanarkshire Derby goals - 0

David Turnbull Lanarkshire Derby goals - 3

    The veritable 'no brainer'

Hibs were robbed when villa got McGinn, if Motherwell want £3m for Turnbull then pay it, we’ll be robbing Motherwell.

We were interested in Fletcher when we needed a striker. We didn't sign him and we went on to lose the league. He COULD'VE been the difference.

£2.7m now for McGinn seems a steal. Didn't he win Villa's play of the season? We definitely miss the boat.

I think we should be careful in bidding for these players as GMS proves but every transfer is a risk and his stats speak for themselves. He's really highly regarded at Motherwell, interesting teams in England and was young player of the year.

I'd rather spend the money on him than some unknown quantity.

I honestly don't know either way whether Fletcher has ever been so obviously good he would've changed our league fortunes, I mean you're talking about the season we messed up at Caley?

McGinn is a far more obvious talent to me, does a job not a lot of players either want to or can do. Still can't understand why we didn't sign him. Don't know if it was the manager or the board.

If Turnbull has the potential we're kinda at a crossroads because normally talent that rare attracts headhunters and if Barnsley are the only other club at the table that doesn't sound right enough for us to go nuts. Is he really that much better than what we've got?

    Just pay it ffs

When you consider the millions thrown at complete UK own entities of the years it makes you wonder...... Does the club have an agenda against Scottish people?

    Clear as day.

If this bid of ours is true then this is going to be interesting how it pans out. If it is anything like the Mcginn saga it doesn't hold well with our recruitment this summer. I can see conflict ahead already between Lennon and the board i.e Lawell. Its fecking pathetic that we wont pay for this lad but are willing to pay money and wages for the likes of Commper, Allan etc.

@TimFloyd Aye Forrest and McGregor and KT and Broony and Bain and Johnson and Henderson all slipped through the cracks in the broken dreams of our board

We’re probably going to sell Ntcham for £8m+ so if we can get Turnbull and the boy Harper in for £3m combined then that’s good business.

Turnbull scores 10 goals for us next season his value triples.

Bigger teams than Barnsley were after McGinn? Don't know what Contract Situation means, if it was that obvious then why discuss it?

I honestly haven't seen much of him. 15 goals is impressive for a 19 year old, no doubt. I've seen the video of his goals but what's he like on the ball? How is he when he's being pressed, does he have the attributes to get us up the pitch in those situations? cause that's what we badly lack.

For me the midfield is a hugely important area we need to address this summer. I'm just not sure this boy is it.

My mate is a motherwell season ticket holder. Says he'd be worth the money even without the goals.

Aye, I've seen that one mate. I'm wondering more about his general play.

Tbf Fraser went to Bournemouth. They were only just promoted to the Championship when they took him from Aberdeen. He's now linked to Arsenal and Liverpool.

McCarthy went to Wigan. Admittedly, they were a Premiership team at the time but... It's Wigan ffs.

I don't think anyone is going nuts over Turnbull and I don't think Motherwell's asking price is nuts either.

Is he much better than what we have? People were saying McGinn would be a bench filler. Turnbull may not be initially be a first teamers but everything points to him potentially being one in the (near) future.
