Given that we're paying top dollar for our CEO (more than even most EPL clubs) I think we're well within our rights to question things. A healthy business would welcome constructive criticism and take on board ideas to adapt and improve. Our current board do the complete opposite.

Im a cynical * but can’t help thinking that today’s ‘new training facility’ announcement is a rather timely release designed to deflect attention from the various recent gaffes.

I do agree with you on this.

 

Congerton has effectively been frozen out from last summer. At the very least we've known he was on his way out when the rat left.

Obviously no official application or interview process could take place til he left but we could've been doing work behind the scenes.

A well-run football club has succession management in place for these eventualities. Instead we continue to be reactive rather than pro-active. The current system needs shook up.

It is but that's the same for many provincial clubs across Europe. The difference is that the well-run ones like Ajax, Salzburg, Dortmund etc. all have football structures that implement succession management.

They have football men in those roles that are making decisions related to the football operations; not business-men that are incentivised to run their clubs at a profit.

 

I do hate to talk *, but this you have it right.

 

Tbh I think people are over exaggerating how bad things are at the club.

 

To be honest, but what Celtic, we have is alot more that just fotball to spend the money on. Our money not just go to play

 

I understand there is animosity towards Rodgers but the heavily constrained nature of the club in a financial sense is one of the key reasons why he decided to leave, for me. He was hinting at it for a long, long time before he left. These problems were present in Lennon’s first period as well.

I’m very sure that Peter Lawwell is a very good accountant and has the balance sheets in a very good way. The difference is, Celtic is not a business with a priority towards shareholders.

In a time of record revenues, why are we investing so much in commercial activities like the hotel and flashing lights whilst it seems that our investment in players has become even more limited as time goes on?

We do need to improve our scouting, but Lennon had a decent transfer record last time, so hopefully he can replicate that now.

 

We also have teams allover the World, we give Money to charities it is not a team in Scotland anymore. The Celtic have so much more to take care of… i * hope we give Lennon better options this time.

Yes... probably correct , but they are certainly getting the ‘perception’ that things are being badly run. That counts for a lot in the media and internet driven climate that football exists in now, and especially so in the Scottish media where any minor negative regarding Celtic is taken and blown up into a major issue.

Even if the business is being well run (and I’m sure it is) ... the pr and press side is not reflecting this right now.

Celtic Plc. V Celtic fc. will be the toughest match this summer.
