One thing I’m jealous of deeply religious people about.

I’ve seen first hand how they are fearless of death, not only that though how they cope with the death of loved ones knowing deep in their hearts they believe that they’re going to a better place and they’ll see them again.

The futility of life really annoys me ,even if you are lucky enough to avoid death until 80 or 90 how good a condition are you likely to be in ,then you die. Was reading into Buddhism a long time ago one thing that stuck in my head of you focus on the past you will be depressed ,if you focus on the future you will be anxious it's best to focus on the right now .I think its probably best not to think too much about it

Death itself doesn’t scare me as such, but the thought of lying 6 foot under while the whole world just carries on around you for eternity gives me the * fear.

I don’t really worry about it but it does come into my mind every now and again, I don’t want to go for a long time but I’m in my early sixties and I sometimes wonder how many years I have left.

When I was a kid I was feart of death because obviously it's your worst nightmare when you're wee. Never get to have fun or see your pals again.

Then kinda late teens early adulthood it's less obvious because you have less fun/ see your pals less, plus all the stresses of * life.

Then when you have a wean it becomes your worst nightmare again. Don't get to see them grow up, take them to the football etc.

Nah. Been there done it, best experience of my life. How you go is a different matter. I’m supposed to have a slow horrible death, so am choosing to end myself in my own way.
Ps. Religion won’t get you to heaven if that’s what you believe. Being a good person will.

I have seen both my parents die peacefully and very naturally so the actual act of dying doesn't frighten me. The thought of my children or wife dying leaves me petrified.

Some days I’ll have crippling anxiety about it then other days im fine.

Never used to be like this until i got stabbed and nearly died years ago. Also my stepdad died very suddenly at 41. Really threw me about how quickly you can just not be here.

Since my son was born a few years ago my panic about it has shifted from a more selfish point of view (not wanting to die) to more not wanting to leave him without a dad.

As a poster mentioned I think in the first page.

The only thing that scares me about death is for those around me.

Honestly couldn't give a * about my own, could be the fact that as * as it would be to live a life without my glorious rotund godly being going around brightening every * day, I know my kids and partner will be eventually minted.

So much so I'm kinda waiting for one of them to come of age and kill me or my partner does it one night after I shart in the bed and she gets fed up cashes in early.

But in honesty, joking aside, I think with my history of depression it makes me welcome death I honestly can't wait for it, like I said earlier I'll live for as long as it lasts and I will give all I can for it, but * me the day can't come fast enough.

Not scared of death but concerned about how I go. I don't want some protracted disease where I'm in pain for months, also I don't want to live until 95 just to spend 10 years * my pants and eating jelly and soup.

When it's time I would like to go out on my terms.
