if they’re entitled to money why should they give it away, some of them might need it to help with ongoing issues related to the crime.

Why should that be used as what seems like a black mark against them being entitled to compensation or justice?
Sometimes the law don’t want everyone to go to court & testify.

Its an abhorrent thing to happen in any walk of life and it happens in every walk of life sadly. It's also disgusting to point score over something as utterly evil as child abuse

Sorry, but I think this is a really poor and cynical take.

An apology can absolutely be issued from Celtic given that the boys club and club did have links, even if it wasn't an official partnership. If I was an abuse victim and these guys were allowed to work closely with children in and around the club I would be insistent on the club accepting a degree of responsibility and doing all they could to find out why this was allowed to happen. Thankfully it looks like that is happening.

Why does the idea of compensation bother you so much anyway? Are they not entitled to at least ask the question after a life of living with the shame of being an abuse victim?

As for your last point, why should they get themselves into bother with the law by going down the violence route? I very much doubt that giving them a doing is going to make them feel like justice has been served.

I agree with you up until the violence route, if it can be got away with.

I see this issue is now being investigated in the states and the huns are pandering it all over the shop. We need to be more transparent on this issue

Whilst the club and its lawyers and insurers are conducting an investigation we need to remain restrained in our public statements none of these gentlemen convicted as far as I am aware where ever employed directly through Celtic that’s where liability will be questioned and on many other levels.

The huns and tories aren’t doing this out the good of their health or sympathy for the victims

Tories are doing it to garner the orange Protestant vote in Scotland in the Scottish elections and the inevitable indy2 referendum.

The huns are doing it because they believe that we can be closed down and liquidated through compensation claims not in sympathy for the victims, they have been emailing SFA, police in uk and USA. All our sponsors etc attempting to have Celtic shut down they believe we would need to pay out over £100m in compensation.

I get what they’re doing and saying it’s just ramped up and getting a lot louder while we get quieter on it. I’m just hoping nothing happens to us as club that’s the only hope the huns have by doing this.

I think that it just needs to be addressed some way from us even with us saying we can’t comment as investigations are still ongoing etc but will provide findings in due course etc

Strange time to bump this thread :43: especially since the club has already commented and said we’ve set up our own independent investigation a while ago.
