I wasn’t really born into a Celtic supporting family so always have a bit of an affinity with the players who have come to us with no attachment whatsoever and become a Celt for life. Lustig is the kinda guy who would be welcome back at Celtic Park anytime by the fanbase because he is one of those fans, and a part of the wider Celtic family if you like.

That and the diving header against Aberdeen. 2 amazing headers that made a huge contribution to the Treble Treble.

True, it's extra special because his love of the club is demonstrated with his unrelenting commitment to winning and that is why he can create world class moments, his rabona against St Johnstone in one of Celtic's greatest ever goals, so many incredible assists, two game changing headers to win the League and Cup just this season, this is meant to be the season he's wearing tartan socks and watching QVC and we're wondering what class of room his cruise ship will be :56:

It's so beautiful because that is exactly where most fans hands were watching the exact same movement, the ball was placed perfectly, Eddy is an incredible finisher but it's tight, the game is close to extra time, have we produced another moment that will live in the memory forever? Yeeeessssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :36: As already mentioned, Broony another player who came from outside the youth system but soon became maybe the biggest Tim since Billy McNeill R.I.P. when he turned to celebrate with Lustig, it said so many things. Most of all this is not the year for goodbyes cause we're not selling post cards, we can be romantic without having to draw conclusions.

@.Zander. He's a Leonee? Even more reason to keep him :fear:

In fact, Lustig is a much better player in the swedish national team. There is something they do that they get to use him better than us. And of course, the swedish national team plays better opposition than Kilmarnock and Motherwell.

Hope we manage to keep Lustig for one more season. he is still a very decent player and very much of of us for life now!

We of course should have getting in a new right back for the long term as one of our summer priorities. But I think Lustig's experience could be crucial as we go for 9.

NEIL LENNON has confirmed he wants right-back Mikael Lustig to sign a new deal.

The Hoops ace’s current deal expires this summer after seven and a half years of service.

Lustig has attracted interest from AIK in his homeland Sweden.

But Lennon insists he is keen to keep the 32-year-old in Glasgow as he gets set to build his squad after being appointed manager on a full-time basis.

He said: “I have spoken to him, but not to his representatives. I had good feedback from Mika.

“I would like him to stay. I think he still has a year or two in him.

He has been a fantastic player for the club. He has been pivotal on and off the field.”

Pure sentiment if he stays he doesn't have two years in him and that's been shown very clearly for the last two seasons should bow out on the high of that assist to clinch the treble treble.

If he’s being kept we need a first choice signed as well.

Lustig should not be our starting RB at this point in his career.
