Genuinely think that was the biggest non event european final i'll ever see felt like there was nothing at stake whatsoever.

 

Well my eyes hurt now. I mean the first one is the worst but the * at the bottom couldn’t even get the real kit just a * fake top.

How did that guy get through Scotland with that

 

The Barca ones annoy me more because those * are actually serious.

 

Absolutely brilliant stuff the old half/half stuff.

 

Just consider the vast majority are spending over a grand to get there from London, London-Baku there are no direct flights and the consensus is the “easiest” way is a direct flight to Tbilisi then an overnight 14 hour train journey, neither club or company could even charter planes to the final direct from London like what happens in any other final, this was due to the fact Baku couldn’t deal with more planes than the very few that arrive there every day, all in all UEFA managed to * up this final the day they announced its host city, it didn’t matter what clubs made the final bar Qarabag, this was always going to be a final not in the normal tradition, this is a desperately expensive place to get to on another continent and yet again fans were the last consideration over greed, people seem to be taking cheap shots at Arsenal and Chelsea fans for not going, to be honest it would have been a better statement if none of their fans had of gone to this non event

 

That's fair enough but they still have large supports now across eastern Europe and in to Asia and around those countries..

Both supports were embarrassingly tiny..

I completely agree about having finals in places like that tonight are a joke but I think we'd of taken about 15/20 thousand by hook or by crook. Maybe that says more about how these team's treat the Europa league as well..

Bet you thousands more would've went if it was a champion's league final..

 

The support there of almost any clubs that got to the final bar Qarabag would have been tiny and that’s crux of it

There were less than 100 Celtic fans that travelled there for the last qualifier, even by qualifier standards a very low turnout but not without good reason, again folk were having to find around a grand just to get there as it was in the middle of the summer, the money side of things prices a massive chunk of our support out of even considering going somewhere like that and Glasgow is harder still to get there than London, you are right to say there would be more Celtic fans in Baku but a Europa League Final would be far more respected by us than especially English or Spanish fans who in the main turn their noses up at it until the Quarter Final.

I thought we took more than that there but could be wrong..

Definitely would be like a one off trip for most of ours in a final that this lot down here just don't care about enough for the Europa..

Pals of mine getting tables in pubs or even just watching it in door's. A European final. Mental to me..

 

No that was it and massive respect to every one of them, I remember at the time folk moaning about what they had to pay in air fares as it was peak season, it was the Paul the Tim types that made up the numbers for that, let’s not forget this is a country that borders Iran, it’s not set up for football matches in terms of getting fans into the city by plane which makes the decision even more bizarre or should I say corrupt, literally every fan travelling there for this final has had to travel somewhere else, then get another plane or very long train from there, I know for a fact I couldn’t be * spending that sort of dough and time so I’m not really going to criticise other fans irrespective of who they support for not doing it either

 

Fair enough mate, it does sound a nightmare..

It's just when you hear over two thousand getting sent back out of 6 for a Europa league final against your city rival's...sounds terrible..

Does make more sense now. As I say though, we'd take thousands and thousands more by all types of travel 'just to be there'.....as it'd definitely mean more to more of us than the two tonight..
