Pace isnt his strength. He is a penalty box striker. Seems decent in the air despite not being the tallest.
He would most likely need to be between £0-£1m for this to be a realistic move. Otherwise we will be looking elsewhere

Thing is he is not gonna go for nothing to 1 million though, so my point stands his legs could go and the reported asking price is 7 million euros!

Even if he was cheap I wouldn’t want him, rather get something else in.

Worth a go for <£2m. Anything over that is a complete non starter.

Would prefer we signed a striker who is black, French and under 21 if possible..

When you’ve scored as many in La Liga as he has in 2 seasons he’s going to go for more than £2m. Despite the age.

We would never pay near to that for anyone that age. I would put €7m on it.

Well 19 goals in la liga isnt to be scoffed at, especially at a team who were relegated. He would get a lot more chances at a team like ours. That being said, id also prefer if we looked elsewhere.

    £15million ok strikers, no chance.

No chance at his age, no chance in his historic scoring record and no chance should we be spending that much on a player that doesn't represent at least the potential of a return on the investment.

    Far too risky

Thing is he has had two good seasons in his whole career to be fair he could come here and not handle the rough and tumble of the Scottish game.

He's had far more than 2 good seasons in his career. I'm assume you're just basing this on his Wikipedia stats. Earlier in his career he played a lot in midfield and thats why he wasn't as prolific

7m Euros for a guy that scored 19 La Liga goals last season, great value. Yes please. We need quality as we close in on the ten. Guy could be a big part of that, 32 is on the older side but still fine. 10 of the Seville team were over 30.

Why do we need a direct return on investment? How about he returns the investment by helping us to Europe, or secures more trophies, helps us to the ten? Gives us 2 great seasons? Our team has plenty of youth.

Return on investment is one of many desired requirements.

For a guy who will cost 7million, has only scored well for the last year, has a previously poor goal return, age is against him, legs likely to go, etc etc, it's a high out lay for a risk.

Suspect the £7m price tag is a load of pish anyway, but we don't need a striker unless someone is away.

Lenny stated long ago that a Striker would be priority, well before he was offered the gig long term.
