6 players out of 11 is quite a rebuild that's without even trying to improve the midfield

    What positions John?

Most of us don’t have head in sand when it comes to the priorities of 2 x CB 1 x RB, 1 x LB, a striker and possibly a goalie.

Midfield we are still over stacked and out wide it’s unreal!

The midfield needs improved as the last two games against the zombies at the bigotdome we were over powered in the midfield so bring in two new midfielders.

That is not the priority. A first team starter RB and CB are musts. Back up CB and LB are next. Then a striker depending on what Bayo is like and if Griff is back. Midfield we have Christie coming back and Shved coming in that can play the 10, so that is the lowest priority for me. If we sell Ntcham and/or Rogic then we need to start looking at other midfielders.

Scot Allen leaving and would expect bitton and ntcham not to be here by the start of new season but also need a right back and back up left back and two centre half's and a another striker.

Either Bayo proves himself to be a starter or we sign a new CF that is going to suit NL's style. One of the two has to happen for us to remain champions next season. Given our normal domination of possession and territory domestically, this is just as important if not more than signing new defensive options.

For those who are in love.....
    Bain

    New right back
    Ajer
    New centre half
    KT

    McGregor
    Christie
    New box to box midfielder

    Forrest
    Shved
    Edouard

We could get away with just needing 3 first team player's to go straight in..

Would still need another centre half, backup left back, left winger and striker. Couple of those will likely be loans so we're looking at signing 5 permanent player's with a few to go straight in and the rest first bream squad player's..

No as bad as people might think to be fair..

    O'Donnell
    Ralston
    Jozo
    Church
    Hayes
    Henderson
    Broony
    McInroy
    Mulumbu
    Kouassi
    Rogic
    Johnston
    Arzani
    Dembele
    Griff
    Bayo

Roughly the kinda depth we'll be left with..

Lennon likes Bitton and I think he will use him more than the rat did.

The defence is what cost us champions league. All 3 goals against aek were cheap goals. Hendry really struggled and Lustig wasn't on the ball either.
To me a striker is not near a priority. We have goal threats in midfield and 3 strikers should be enough. We spent most of this season with 1 (Burke and Weah were not strikers to me). I think a 4th is only needed of Griff or Bayo struggle by January.

Edit:sorry thought you said in champions league not remain champions

Much bigger changes required for the CL, which I don't see happening...gotta remain optimistic, though...:54::55:

Its football manager time, so I'll have a go too.

Goalkeepers - fine with what we have.

    Defence -
6 foot plus with bags of pace RB.
    Back up left back
2 new CBs, a Bobo Balde type and an experienced Kolo Toure type to help the ones still there. Think we forget how young Jozo and Ajer still are.

    Midfield-
2 new fast, mobile tough CMs, forget the modern day nonsense of DMs & AMs. Good midfielders should do both as McGregor and teams like Salzburg show.

    Forwards-
A big mobile CFike Dembele that can play on a partnership with Eddy. Griff and Bayo as options. Paddy Robert's is also a no brainer.

Of all the out of contracts, I'd keep none even with Lustig being my hero, times over.

    Sell-
Ntcham- I'll drive him to the airport
    Morgan
    Sinclair
Rogic - if the money is right
    Bitton
Struggling to remember the big lump of wood we got from Dundee, but him too.
    Miller

Plenty game time for the young ones too, Dembele, Henderson and Johnston.

    Seems pish easy doesnt it.

    :56: cheers mate.

I think the main reason we have struggled and gor turned over at Ibrox is the lack of closing down and pace from the front. Midfield and defence constantly on the turn.

Not saying we should aspire to be on the same level but the Man City's Liverpools and to a degree Salzburg who I think were tremendous against us was the pressing and movement in all areas. We need that energy and intensity.
