Lenny scraped by the last few weeks. Initially there was a umph when he first came in. But then things got slow and shakey on thhe field. The players seemed to loose fitness, tactics seemed to be half assed, players were looking uninterested. And in spite of two poor games against the huns we have gone and appointed Lenny which is totally underwhelming considering the A list names that were linked.

    The reason that Lennons got the job is we will need alot of the players this summer and when you look at his signings first time round its easy to see why the board thing he is the right man to do that;

    Forster
    Matthews
    Lustig
    Mulgrew
    Van Dijk
    Ambrose
    Izaguire
    Wanyama
    Bitton
    Kayal
    Ledley
    Johansen
    Rogic
    Commons
    Stokes
    Hooper
    Griffiths
    Pukki (albeit * here)

That is an incredible success rate with players. Considering how many won player of the year etc in their time at Celtic. Mulgrew, Commons, Izaguire, Griffiths and Johansen.

In a 442 system you think? Someone poaching and him drifting off the front? Or more the 10 role?

Someone poaching in any 2 striker formation, so Edouard can be free.

I hope you are right. He is a quality quality player, yesterday and previous big games showed that. I just hope he is utilised properly. I always wondered if Rogers had him down as a replacement for Sinclair on the left, but had to utilise him up top due to lack of other options when dembele left and Griffiths dip in form

    I'm more than satisfied.

Was * myself worrying that we'd be chasing managerial shadows for weeks and that we'd end up appointing someone underwhelming in the last few days of the summer break.

Instead we have a guy who is Mr Celtic, knows the club inside out, has a proven record in managing the club, and made some excellent signings in his time with us.

He hits the ground running - we're good to go!

Over to you Mr Lawwell - the club made a bit of cash out of the Snakes departure, so get it shifted into the transfer budget!

    Mon 'eh Lenny!

That's a pretty selective interpretation of what actually happened at both of those clubs...:43:

He managed to fit in and change a player like samaras into his last team and can see him doing the same with Eddy! Hes tall and quick down the left hand side cutting in on to his stronger right hand side done it time and time again I like the big guy as a striker think he got a raw deal this season and done a great job for a young lad that was left as our only striker most of the season. Can see him starting to be used on the left more tho similar to the way samaras was played.

    What a mess

We had a difficult year with lots of set backs. There was a sense of relief, that if we could get over the line winning the league, then we could lick our wounds and come back stronger. But this is a continuation of the stress, probably even worse.

    Time to circle the wagons.

Ye this appointment will annoy and disappoint some fans but whats done is done and all we can do is back the man.
The football under lenny has been poor but with the permanent appointment and a few new faces we may see improvement.

We will never know for sure what efforts the board made to bring in a big name perhaps they did and just couldn't get the deal done ,but as i said whats done is done so lets back the man.

Griffiths clearly is our best striker though, Edouard is not an out and out striker.

This is a half serious post actually.

He was offered the job in the * Hampden Park showers. He hasn’t officially accepted this yet right? Academic I suppose, but...

Surely before you appoint/offer/confirm a new manager there are discussions, budgets, wages, vision, talks etc etc. This is the same Lenny that we are led to believe wasn’t backed and chose to leave before. You don’t just rock up to a changing room where the booze is flying and the guy is half naked and say “ye fancy it?” By all accounts Lenny has had no clue what was happening with the job unless he was bluffing all week so I doubt there has been proper negotiations etc.

Could there be another twist to the tale this week? :giggle2:

100% behind Lenny btw, was just on my mind the way this has played out that he might still say no

I love this patter, I don't even care if it's fishing, it's just too mental to let slip past, life long fans more concerned about Lenny's feelings than the Club's success, what did we do before Lenny, well obviously Mowbray won that poll :humpani:
