Judging by the last poll of who would you want as manager, Lennon was 2nd on the list and it appeared that a lot of people on here wanted him here for the 10. However there is also a large amount of supporters not happy at all with the appointment and the lack of ambition by the board. The silly Mourinho rumours didn't help anyone, but there did seem to be some genuine hope that Benitez could possibly come. The Moyes rumour then brought us back to reality, so what do we think of the appointment of Lenny?

I love Lenny to bits as he is a Celtic man through and through but he is not the man to take the club forward on the pitch .

Not exactly ecstatic but we need to get behind him now that he's in the job. The board must back him to the hilt as this squad is in terrible need of investment.

Unimaginative, unambitious appointment. Fully accept Rafa or Jose were unrealistic but there's some amount of managers between them and Lenny in terms of ability and stature.
Just got to hope the board back him now and give him the chance to prove me wrong

Absolutely not. His task is quite clear imo, reduce the wage bill. Its the same come down as when MON left, successful tenures of him and Rodgers left a huge spend on wages. Lennon has to reduce that, same as Strachan done and if we are successful at the same time the board see it as a success. If he's not successful, we are back to a championship scrap with Rangers every season, when in reality we should be light years ahead of them.

26 votes and only 5 replies...

84% NO when I just voted.

That’s a lot of dissatisfaction. Most will have stated their opinion elsewhere but certainly sets the general ‘mood’.

He gave us great memories as a coach with that Barca win and CL last 16. No doubt.

There are three reasons why I don't want him, though.

    1. Football has evolved and he has not which shows how our team under him plays. Of course I know he's been here only few months and does not have "his" players but make no mistake - the style will stay.

2.His signings - he is okay with old army like Izzy and Lustig which tbh are deadwood now. Not to mention Brown will probably drop a level this season and he will refuse this fact just because Brown is a Celtic legend.

,3. His cup record. I always thought it was underpreparation and lack of motivation for them. Raith Rovers anyone? Or that other season when we got knocked out at CP against a Championship side in the extra time.

Just woke up half pished so please forgive any incoherent ramblings.

I had a flashback about 10 mins ago and remembered Lenny is the man now, and I am absolutely devastated. I'm a glass half full kind of guy, i also love him, but this is the tipping point for me and truly believe we have * things up here with this managerial choice.

Watching that dross yesterday, as good as it was at the end I was thinking no way will Lenny get the job based on recent performances...again i was wrong.

Anyway, remember the good times as they were moisture inducing in the loin area, the best of times... however, I fear a reality call is coming and its not filling me with any hope.

Resounding no. Love the guy and he is a legend but didn't want him to get it. Will still back him and the team though obviously.

No but will have my full backing now.

How anyone can be satisfied with the football that's been on display but I suppose it gives the uber Tims keep the faith brigade a wee glimmer if hope to show how "Faithfull through and through" they are.

The same people that would have let RD run us into the ground because he was a "nice guy"

Can't answer this till I see if he is backed. If he is given money to build his team, yes; if this is indeed the cheap option, no.

The contemptuous way this was announced suggests the latter, unfortunately.

I'd rather have Neil than davie Moyes that's the only positive really but my season tickets renewed and he'll have my full backing next year. Well done to him on securing the treble as well. Celtic legend.

might be a blessing in a roundabout way,
NL will be wanting to tear that team appart, so maybe he's been given assurances to the amount of funds he'll be getting.

    wishful thinking obviously.

Love Lenny but its a no from me . I think its the cheap option he will get next to nothing to spend on rebuilding this squad which needs a lot of money spent on it . If those fkrs on the board fk the ten because of lack of ambition they need ousted .

Honestly couldn't give less of a * about Hibs mate. Lenny now has a window to get his players in and set his team up and next season he will be judged on that.
