Happy for him to get another deal but not as first choice. Brings a lot of experience to the table and great servant to the club

Love his reaction to the goal, also Broony looking for him after the goal too.

If it's as expected to be the end, scored the goal that led us to our 8th title and then assisted for the winning goal for treble treble.

I saw something popping up on screen about him, but cannae mind exactly what it was, think it was only player to play in all 28 Cup games or some cup final thing.

I would keep him for another year if he was happy to be backup.

If he got through that I would keep him for the 10IAR season purely for semantic reason. Would be great to see him, Brown and Forrest take to the pitch to lift the 10.

Only one player started all 6 of Celtic’ cup wins in this triple treble run. Step forward Sir Mikael Lustig

Great servant shouldn't get a new deal and leave on a high with everyone's best wishes but probably will.

With the contribution he’s made in the last 8 years, would it be a stretch to say that, Larsson aside, he’s the best value for money player we’ve had in the modern era?

Great guy. One of my favourite players despite all. What I like the most about him is that I live in Sweden, most swedes are cold, robot like, don't seem to get emotional or excited about anything (yes, I met Larsson, he was polite and such but not more than that). Lustig isn't, he is pure passion. I would be happy in having him as the backup RB as he still can be useful, of course, if he is ok with that. But we cannot play him every match anymore. Good opposition will exploit that.

Feel bad cause i want Lustig out the starting 11 real bad. But I've been looking at all the pictures from today and you can see just how much the guy loves us. Him greetin at the end of the game was quite something as well.

He deserves a new 2 year contract is say but with the young guy Perez as new back up and looking for a quality right back I doubt Lustic will get game time, best for him to go

I think Mika should stay as an experienced player and fantastic back up RB. We obviously need a new starter but he still has a place in team.

I would love Lustig to stay next season mostly because we can't sell such an influential player before we have recruited and bedded in a superior replacement. Then I would like him to play back up because he loves the club so much I think he would do that as long as we pay him a respectable amount. I am guessing he would love to be here for the opportunity to be part of making history in the next two years.

I think talk of his legs going are over exaggerated because I'm just having a gander of the game now and he's shifting about with plenty of zip. The diving header against Aberdeen also displayed first team pace and precision.

The through ball to Eddy was astonishing and absolutely no doubt it was meant, his whole body language showed he seen the run and used his head like a snooker cue.

I don't understand wanting him to go when everyone also seems to think Ralston and Toljan are not up to the job which I agree with. Ralston has shown a lot more potential than Toljan but still not in the same league as Lustig yet. So yeah, why want him to leave on a high when we don't have a replacement.

We have to be really wary about being nostalgic, I love the fact he's a pure Tim, it's just so amazing to see players who have nothing to do with Celtic come here and totally fall in love with the club but it should not cloud our judgement of their value to the team.

PS. Lustig would be the first to suggest bringing Henke into the conversation is ludicrous, he's nothing like that cold and robotic trophy poor pretender.

You forgetting about a certain Swedish Number 7 that brought so much joy to us all?

No idea if Lustig stays or goes but what a signing he has been for us. Top class.

Will miss him very much. Such a great loveable guy, and has given us so much joy and laughter. Met him a few times and he always reply on private messages on Instagram lol.

Getting older, but he grew to love the club and knows what it is all about.

Many Swedish people ask me why I “chose” to support Celtic, and the answer is impossible to give because there is no answer to that question.

You all know why we became a family, and so does Mikael.

Some players don’t belong and never can or will but He’ll always be a member of the Celtic family.
