No. I'd have him be pardoned. He's the most powerful man in Westeros and killed a tyrant. Robert Baratheon pardoned Jaime for killing the king. I don't see why this is different.

Commander of one of the most powerful armies who are from across the sea and don't belong in Westeros, and I'll repeat, should have zero say in the goings on of Westeros. Particularly given that they * off anyway.

Jon was punished for killing a maniac and Grey Worm was given no punishment for killing soldiers who had surrendered and supporting that very maniac.

    It's * ridiculous.:56:

Mate that's just the easiest of excuses for * awful writing.

That's up there with "Dany forgot about Euron".

See if they actually managed to do anything to Grey Worm, that would be the worst writing of all. They didn’t belong there but they were there, they had the city. It was under there control.

How exactly would you have Grey Worm punished? And how would you get them and his big * off army to allow people to punish them? By telling them they have no business in Weateros? [\SPOILER]

I don’t think so mate, it’s always been the basis of his character. His struggle within him.

I think it’s too easy to try and blame bad writing for something going a way that you don’t want it to. It’s always been his character that. Game of Thrones has never been one for the fairytale endings.

Jaime’s Arc is a frustration but it doesn’t ruin a TV show.

People forgetting about the ships is lazy writing, it doesn’t ruin any characters or ruin a TV show.

Dany has been built to do what she did from the beginning in my eyes. I think holding her to the fact she said she doesn’t want to be the queen of ashes is strange, she broke and did what she thought was right.

I’m not seeing who they’ve flipped and the only arc that ended strangely was Jaime.

Obaf has said exactly what I'm feeling but in a much more coherent way. Spot on in his assessment there.

Fair enough it's subjective and people are allowed to have differing views. But in my opinion the writers absolutely shat the bed and made a mockery of several characters this season.

I agree a lot with what Oba’s saying.

I hate how much they’ve rushed it but I don’t mind what they’ve done to the characters.

It confuses the life out of me people thinking that’s Dany just now becoming a mass murderer when she’s always had the highest kill count in the show lol

Tbh, the problem stems further than this episode.

Grey Worm should have had * all army to back him up. We saw the Unsullied and Dothraki almost massacred at Winterfell. The writers in fact said how we witnessed pretty much the extinction of the Dothraki - yet here we are 3 episodes later and they look right as rain.

Now that is * terrible writing. Why delibrately show them being wiped out and then have it have absolutely zero effect - handwaving it with ‘half your armies wiped out’. Naw mate, 3 * and a dug (that they couldn’t be * showing us) came back with Jorah. [\SPOILER]

It is absolutely bad writing. Again, I could buy him going back to Cersei in time. I don't dispute that he'd always been in love with her. But the way they did it was just so rushed and forced. They cut corners to get him and Cersei in the same room. And to me that is exactly what bad and lazy writing it.

We can agree on that. I just don’t think it betrays his character or outwith the way they developed him.

The fact you know he could easily (and probably would) go back to Cersei show’s that.

    They rushed everything.

They absolutely massacared Euron Greyjoy though. Probably worse than Dorne.

There’s definitely a difference between bad writing and rushed writing. I think the line is being blurred a little.

She has never been a murderer of innocent people. Her dragons killed a child a few seasons ago and Dany was so devastated she locked them up.

I think this is where the disconnect is between the two groups. The people who are saying the mad queen thing was forced aren't disputing that she's always been power hungry and ruthless. We know she has.

The problem is how she went from being ruthless, yet still woman of the common folk, to a genocidal maniac who doesn't give a * about any innocent people, in the space of about 4 episodes.

Anyway, I can't be arsed spending all of my Monday afternoon going back and forth on this. That'll do for now.:giggle1:

Rushed writing created bad writing. They feed into each other.

    Right, that's my last point!

I think they went out there way to show the ones she crucified weren’t all guilty. There was innocent ones. She could just explain it away to herself.
