Do you think Celtic would benefit from appointing a director of football? If so, who would be the person you would put in place to incorporate the "Celtic way"?

    I think it's a waste of a wage tbh.

I can see why they would be useful, particularly as modern football moves towards everyone being disposable but for me nah.

We should have a Manager and he should be ultimately in charge of everything related to the players and the football they play.

That’s how, historically, Celtic have always succeeded.

I think it could work as if we get a decent manager he may leave in a season or 2. It would give us some consistency between manager's, for who it could be Lenny fits the role well.

I don’t like a Director of Football, I would like a similar sort of role but below the manager. So they report to him and shape everything they do around the manager rather than the other way around.

There is the potential for a conflict of interest between the DOF and the manager, i think it over complicates things tbh.

    This.

I always imagine a DoF to be somecunt just waiting in the shadows to take on the manager's job when the manager gets sacked.

Lawwell is the CEO - he deals with the fiscal side of footballing/club operations.

Manager will be dealing with the footballing side of matters, his coaching staff team will assist him with that.

Manager wants assistance from Lawwell, he asks for it.

Why the * do we need to employ someone else to fill the position of being the go-between of board and management???

The last thing we need is a right DOF at our club. :84:

Invest the money into the scouts and youth set up, wont be long until we struggle to compete financially with English championship clubs with wages so we need to start improving our talents and scouting them from further afield. DOF is pointless in my opinion.

A DOF would be the one getting us scouts and youth coaches to improve the whole set up.

While taking a big wage to do it, to do it right we’d need to bring someone with the experience of doing it at the top level. Otherwise we just end up in the Congerton situation again.
