Guys like Benitez and Mourinho aren’t footballing dinosaurs just because they don’t utilise a high press.

Both managers at the very highest level of the game who we would be mad not to speak to even there was even a small amount of interest from either.

Andre Villas-Boas is the outstanding candidate for me and would be my first choice.

It’s tricky to gauge how realistic he would be as he is out of work, but I suspect it would be pretty difficult to attract him.

Benitez and Mourinho are non runners. Villas Boas probably now a long shot but possible and Billic definitely would take it. Villas Boas would be my number one choice followed by Philip Cocu. Moyes 3rd. Then Lennon.

The term dinosaur is vastly overused in relation to football managers.

Villas Boas should absolutely be possible. * me, he was sacked from China. Big bucks or no, it's hardly a * super league. If we put a contract down in front of him, he'd sign it to get back into football surely.

You're spouting a whole load of misinformation here, he was actually very good in China (finished 2nd place) but refused a contract extension. Think you're getting mixed up with Bilic

Plus, I reckon an actual dinosaur would stand a chance of winning the SPFL with us...

CELTIC are considering Claudio Ranieri as their next manager, according to Italian reports.

Caretaker boss Neil Lennon’s future is uncertain despite steering Hoops to their eighth consecutive title.

The Northern Irishman was in the crowd to watch managerless West Brom lose their Championship playoff to Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Ranieri, 67, stunned world football by leading 5,000-1 shots Leicester to the 2016 Premier League title.

He is currently back in caretaker charge of Roma after his disastrous three-month spell as Fulham boss ended in February.

However the former Chelsea manager last week declared his intention to quit his hometown club at the end of the season.

An Italian source said: “According to the latest revelations, Claudio Ranieri’s name has ended up on Celtic’s shortlist in case they don’t extend Neil Lennon’s contract.

“Ranieri will leave Roma at the end of the season. He said so himself before their last game against Juventus.

He arrived in Rome following Eusebio Di Francesco’s dismissal. But he could soon find himself on the market once more.”

Ranieri has managed top clubs across Europe, including Juventus, Inter Milan, Monaco and Atletico Madrid as well as his three English sides.

And the experienced Italian could now vie with Lennon, David Moyes, Chris Hughton and others for the chance to lead Celtic towards a potential ninth title in a row.

I agree he'd be number one choice for me too, give him some decent money to add players and then the added gap in quality between our players and the rest of the league he'd be able to play his style of football with ease.

Would avoid Ranieri altogether. Nice guy but he'll know nothing about Scotland let alone Scottish football.

Thought his Leicester sacking was harsh but of all the other clubs he's managed he's been rightly dismissed imo.

My dad saw Mourinho last week in London walking by Harrods, some people noticed him and apparently he was a right miserable * and just completely ignored them. My dad was in his car close by and shouted “Jose, any truth in the rumours about Celtic?”

Mourinho said “There are worse places to be”.. to which my dad replied “No Jose, it’s the only place to be”

    Mourinho laughed and walked off

    He’s coming :84:
