Brighton mates gutted to see Hughton leave..

'Good defensively and can really bring a togetherness to a squad, be interested to see what he can do with a team that's not shackled by the EPL'

When the word 'realistic' is used about a prospective manager, it's a nice way of saying he's probably *.

I'm coming round to the idea. One worry is I'm not sure if he is "too nice". I think that is the third time now he has been sacked and the fans of the clubs in question have actually being disappointed ( or at least thought it was harsh) which is very unusual.

I like Hughton, but have any of his teams played decent football? Can't remember.

Not sure if he's more of a defensive type manager.

    Wouldn't mind him..

Seems lazy though as he's just out a job and an obvious choice..

Thought they looked good a lot of the time's I saw them at home particularly. Brought decent player's in as well but they seemed to fall to * and took hammerings at home to Cardiff, Bournemouth etc..

I saw something about them having the 6th biggest net spend in the EPL over the last 3 year's which tells you he maybe should've been doing a better job?

Thought they played quite well when I saw them..

    Knockaert. Propper. Izquierdo etc..

Pretty good outfit all across but they fell off for some reason..

Dermot will be having a perusal thru the pages of this thread, stroking his tash and smoking a fat one, chuckling to himself in the knowledge that a quality manager is in the wings just waiting to be revealed. :34:

Either that or it will be Lenny and a lot of cheap players over the summer. :67: :54:

We need to get a manager in who would attract players. As big a name as possible. The likes of Chris Houghton, no harm to him, ain't that type.

Chris Hughton, lol. No thanks. He’s a good manager for smaller teams in bigger leagues and he can organise a team defensively. However, his football is terrible to watch, he’s negative and isn’t the kind of manager we need.

A credible alternative though ironically his weak point is Lennys strength. The most annoying part of the snakes reign was the way he pandered to the journalist and rarely spoke out against the injustices we suffered on the field.

He can't excel at something he has not been tested on. On the European stage we are that lesser team he has successfully managed

He had to set up his teams that way. He didn’t have a choice. It’s not negative trying not to get smashed off teams far better than you.

Well I can only go off his record so far, i don’t think he is a terrible manager but he isn’t the right one for us. I don’t think he would radically change his style of football just because celtic is a different challenge to the likes of brighton or Norwich. I agree we need a more pragmatic approach in Europe, but also a tactically flexible manager who can also get us playing open and attractive football domestically and I don’t think Hughton is the man for that. There is a reason Brighton are sacking him, despite achieving the basic remit of keeping them in the league.
