Lets forget the £9million we were offered for Boyata who will be away now for free.

Spin it how you want, there is no sensible way to say a manager who won two major trophies at a club, one of them the second biggest prize in club football, has done worse than a manager who has done fairly well with a club in a poor league.

    I don't understand the anti-Lennon campaign.

Yes the style of football has changed, but that was always going to happen. No 2 managers play the game the same way. Neil Lennon came back at the drop of a hat, dealt with a team that wasn't his, won the league and is 1 game away from treble treble.

We were * against Sevco there, granted. But it looked like an experimental Celtic team to me. The league was won ... that's what you do at the end of a league winning season.

Lennon loves the club, he's an excellent motivator, is decent enough tactically, knows the players and the set-up, and has a good domestic and European record with us. Why reject all that for an unknown quantity that will demand millions for his own players and may not succeed?

Neil Lennon is the obvious and right choice for the job.

I’m not spinning anything, the fact you’re even trying to argue he done better relatively is laughable considering he was sacked.

    Yes you are.

Suggesting Clarke has done better at Killie is the only thing laughable here.

Yet one is still in his job being touted for bigger jobs and the other isn’t because he didn’t achieve what he was supposed to. :56:

Another celtic fan with his head in the sand and how was that a experimental celtic team the only one was johnston who came in and did * all as usual and think we need to bring in more quality in the summer and think we need 6 new players .

Its a lot easier for Clarke to keep his job. It’s a lot easier to do well and be ‘touted’ for a bigger job than Kilmarnock. Their job specifications are barely comparable and yet, the fact that you’re seriously trying to suggest that Clarke’s achievements at Killie are better is sheer insanity.

The only first team players that didn’t start were Tierney and Forrest who were both injured.

We’d have been as well playing an experimental XI though if we were going to set up like we did.

    * me. What's the point? Absolutely laughable how blinded some people are because it's Lenny. I'm just going to gloss over the first couple of paragraphs because they're nonsensical.

Your last paragraph. Let's break it down.

"Loves the club" - not a qualification.

"Excellent motivator" - Certainly looked like it today...

"Decent enough tactically" - Point 1 - decent enough? We need better than that. Point 2 - He got schooled by Gerrard today in that department and had absolutely zero response.

"Knows the players and the set up" - Knows the player, aye. So much so that he wants to build the team around Brown and give Lustig another deal. Knows the set up? He barely recognised the set up behind the scenes because of how much we'd progressed under Rodgers. He'll drag us back 10 years if he's given the job. Players out on the lash a couple of nights before a league game no doubt.

His domestic record is, let's be totally honest, average. He won 3 titles (2 when the huns weren't in the division and the other when they were deducted points and folded) and 2 cups out of 9. Deila won 2 leagues out of 2 when the huns weren't there and won 1 cup out of 4. How we long for those days.

His European record is, again, average. He had one fantastic season. The others were no better/worse than Rodgers' record.

okay, so we've entered the period of mass hysteria, because the huns beat us.

I'll just lend my voice to the group that knew all along, we need to improve and modernise as a club

No more bringing the thunder. Let's bring the knowledge and the quality.

This anti-Lennon pish needs to stop.

Making it sound personal, as if folk don't like him. The facts are, we've had an era only bettered by the Jock Stein era and folk want to push on with the best manager we can get. Call it what you want, but NL is the cheap way out for the board.

Since his first spell here, has he achieved anything that makes you think he's improved as a manager ? He won promotion with Hibs, which is a decent enough achievement but hardly remarkable. The circumstances at Bolton were obviously tough but remember that he chose to leave us and took that job out of desperation when nothing else came his way.

If Neil Lennon is the outstanding candidate for you then fair enough but wanting a higher calibre of manager is not anti-Lennon. It's wanting the club to push on to another level, not go back to a place we've been before.

Clarke has tactically schooled Gerrard this season, so if people only want 9 and then 10 he's a safer pair of hands than Lenny.
