Orange men are by definition bigots , I don't see the problem with disliking bigots , singing about *, * or muslim * is wrong. I have no issue with anti orange stuff

It's a cheap shot when fans should be celebrating the league title, singing songs about our winning players and club, singing songs about other teams (and their managers) being rubbish, it's football support and banter. That stuff towards Mcinnes is cringworthy and disgraceful to say the least. It brings us right down to the Hearts/Hun level. Yeah they do it because they have nothing else to hold onto, we have trophies, we have a winning team and a fantastic club who doesn't need this *.

Orangeism and Protestantism are distinct doctrines.

Just watching Sportscene, these songs really need to go absolutely nothing to do with Celtic. Who even is Sean South? :fear:

Heard loads Aberdeen singing 50p flute and singing about Jay Beatie whilst walking to Hampden a few weeks, so they have cheek to moan about anyone.

It's not my favourite song and I think we could sing funnier things but it doesn't offend me either.

If he was definitely a member of the Orange Order then I'd say sing it all day long though.

To me there's no difference between the OO and the KKK. The only reason it gets misconstrued as sectarianism is because of its ties to Protestantism, but you would assume that actually Protestantism would be criticised for allowing itself to have links to such organisations, rather than have it defended and that normal Protestants would want to distance the links between the two not strengthen them.

    What’s this?

Is it just chanting the Pope’s name or am I missing something?

This is more or less how I see it too. I personally don't really see the point in singing it about people who aren't orange bigots, merely because they have links to the Huns; but it's certainly not for me to tell other fans it's pointless when many of them seem to disagree.

I do agree with @Seán Mac D, though: at a time when they are trying to take away much better chants and songs that are an important part of our identity, the right to chant this genuinely just doesn't seem worth fighting for IMO.

Unless the person concerned really is an orange * (or member of a similar scummy organisation), in which case the right to call them out on it would absolutely be worth fighting for. That's a separate issue, though.

He's friends with Gary Owen, or so I'm led to believe.

‘Legends Final’ - Green Brigade Bucket Collection v Hearts at Celtic Park 19/5

As the season draws to a close, we are on the brink of historic success yet our excitement is tinged with the sadness of losing Celtic legends Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers. The sentiments expressed by both families were powerful and as fans we are responsible for celebrating their lives, ensuring their legends live on.

On the 25th of May 1967, Cesar led the Lions to conquer Europe with Stevie scoring the winning goal. At the 2019 Scottish Cup Final, we will inspire our team with their example as they bid to cement their own legacy.

The Lisbon Lions were unique in their togetherness and they continue to instil a togetherness in all of us today. On the 25th of May, the Celtic support will come together to drive our team; through every header, tackle, shot and goal, as we aim to secure the incredible ‘treble treble’.

We invite the Celtic support to come together now, united by the spirit of the Lions, to raise funds for a cup final tifo. Together we can orchestrate something special, memorable and fitting for Billy, Stevie and all the Lions; not forgetting our modern-day record breakers.

In memory of Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers, we pledge £1,967 of the funds raised to Alzheimer Scotland.
