I was thinking of that comparison as well to be honest. I’ve also not seen every single marvel movie so some of it was probably a little bit lost on the likes of me

Saw Endgame yesterday. Thought it was great.

Loved the call backs to the previous movies. Also the final fight scene was class when everyone turns up, just lets you see the scale of the movies. All the women teaming together was a quality scene, felt like a SJW feminist for about 5 seconds.

Thinking of watching Endgame tonight but I've never seen any of those films before. Will I be lost?

IMO, yes. At the very least you should see Infinity War before going to Endgame.

Yeh. Lassie I was with hadn’t seen any and was asking me who everyone was, I just had to shrug my shoulders cos I’d miss 5 mins of the movie explaining for each character. However, she did enjoy it despite not having a clue. Apart from the half hour snooze.

    Was thinking the same myself.

Just in from seeing endgame there. Aye, very good indeed but infinity war was much MUCH better.

Still a right good watch though, even if you need to use your brain a bit at certain points...

    Finally watched Split.

Dunno why it took me so long. McAvoy was excellent and it was a good watch.

    Extremely wicked and vile.

Watchable but I've no idea why they bothered...the first move made was far more entertaining.

Last day of high school and the high jinx that follow 2 straight arrows as they chase the excitement that they think they have missed through school. While it's not an instant classic, a la Dazed and Confused, there are some pretty funny moments throughout.

    Long Shot

Although the story is predictable there are again some good laughs to be had here. Rogan is his usual affable self and Theron holds her own as always. Without doubt, one of the most versatile actresses currently working, and the 2 do have decent chemistry, charisma and timing.

In the space of a few hours from these 2 films, think I easily laughed more in the cinema than I did from all of what could loosely be described as comedic fare, that was offered up in the whole of 2018.

    Tolkien

The latest in the vein of authors finding the inspiration for their famous tales. Provides the hints and inspiration that fans of LOTR etc will pick up on, as they dot throughout Tolkein's journey through adolescence, friendship, courtship, education and war. It's decent, but not nearly as good as Goodbye, Christopher Robin for example, though.

Thought Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile was pretty *.

Seemed to skip forward ridiculously and missed some great opportunities.

Have to agree with you. Honestly felt the film missed the target and not sure why they persisted in filming from the standpoint of Liz.

Anyone who hasn't saw the Netflix 5 parter, then I'd suggest watching that instead.

    Detective Pikachu :38:

Not good. Perhaps you need to understand the whole Pokemon thing to find the appeal of this movie, but for those like myself who haven't a clue about it will probably be just as bored and lost. Essentially the premise is an entirely dull and unfunny remake of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? which was a vastly better and more entertaining film. Not even a few jokes to keep it afloat - total waste of Ryan Reynolds - and Bill Nighy for that matter.

    The Hustle :38:

Wow, did this suck! What a dull rubbish stinker! There is zero chemisty between the leads, the jokes are completely dead in the water. Anyone even contemplating seeing this should just not bother and instead look up the original Bedtime Story (with Marlon Brando & David Niven) or the previous remake, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Steve Martin & Michael Caine) both of which are vastly superior to this latest retread.

    Long Shot :50:

Was so annoyed with both of these that I opted to sit through another screening of this, as I really needed a good laugh to pick me up after sitting through these 2 clonkers back to back. Having sat through LS before, it does stand up to repeat viewing, there is chemistry between the 2 leads and there is a steady delivery of decent laughs. This salvaged what was otherwise a completely dire waste of a day at the cinema.
