See big Johan has said he'd love to come back and work with Lenny if he gets the manager's job.

As time goes on I'm becoming more sure it will be Lennon. While I will be decidedly underwhelmed if so, he'll get my full support and hopefully that of the board through what will be imo a crucial summer.
The squad is due to take a massive hit on numbers (not neccessarily quality) and Euro qualifiers are early July. Imperitive we get things right this summer. Whoever comes in needs to hit the ground running, I don't see much point in signing projects.

This is precisely what had made our transfer policy so ineffective for years. We focused too much on the uncertain future players, instead of those that can contribute right NOW.

If it’s Lennon he needs new minds in to help. This isn’t a reunion party, we are going for 10 in a row.

I think if it is Lennon the most important thing for him is Gary Parker.

Dembele, Wanyama and Van Dijk were all projects. Just depends on the level of the project.

Rose to Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Wagner to Schalke. Those are the kind of clubs with which we should be competing for managers.

Have to say, the way things are looking likely now is that it's going to be Lennon - surely to * the club wouldn't be sending a "temp" manager on scouting missions to France if they were trying to get targets in for the next season as well as a new manager?

IF it's going to be Lennon, I wouldn't be against Mjallby coming back in as his assistant - both of them worked well with each other, know each others' styles/qualities etc.

This MUST be the right appointment. It's a last minute call for starting establishing a strong squad which is gonna take us to 10IAR and beyond. Massive transfer window ahead, needs to be executed correctly, even with an element of some risky (overspending) strategy. So So important.
You wanna make history - dinnae fkn hesitate (message for the board)
With all my respect and sympathy - I don't think it should be Lenny.

I think Joe Ledley said as much(may have been someone else). Parker is the calming, arm around the shoulder type, which compliments Lennons style

Johan was in charge of set plays in his time with us as well. And we were * good at set plays back then.

Am I right in thinking that Parker was responsible for analysing and preparing for games, and the like?

He’s also very good tactically, which is something that Lenny’s been lacking this time so far, which I thought was one of his biggest strengths last time and at Hibs.

Whoever gets the job, his backroom staff should elevate him. A good working relationship is important, but I think that we need new ideas, as well.

Fair enough, I'd agree with that. But imagine signing 4 projects this summer and they all turn into Amido Balde.
I fully accept theres no guarentee with any signing, but I feel we will be giving ourselves a better chance if we're looking at more experianced players this summer.
We're too close to the ten & have a reasonable bank account, I'm not advocating we bust oursleves but I think we should be a bit more daring and adventurous with our transfers this summer.

100% agreed mate, Lennon needs Parker by his side. That being said though, I'm not sure he would be allowed back to work as part of the team if Kennedy is still in the position he is the now (remember seeing something about Kennedy being touted for a job upstairs or something?)

For me, at the time, the Lennon/Parker/Mjallby/Thompson set up was the "dream team" - you watched the sidelines and basically Lenny/Johan/Thommo would be rotated who was actually stood on the touchline barking out orders - showed it was truly a team effort between the lot of them, and obviously Parker was just sat analysing everything.
