Clearly talent there but honestly when will we ever go out and get some youth coaches who’ll coach stuff like passing from the back, pressing, composure...

Still canny believe we went and got McManus and Duff to coach our two most important teams for developing players :giggle1:

I truly think we lack the spark of aggression that winners need. Our first team might be in a strong position in the SPL but there are times you see it there too. Sevco despite all their failings have an aggressive winning mentality at times and it's who really wants it the most who wins. Our youth team didn't really look at the races tonight. I haven't watched them before so I don't know if they are any better than what I've just seen.

They’ve not won a trophy in 10 years while we’re on course for a treble treble so I can see your logic...

None of that really matters tough, 15-18 of the players on the park tonight won't even make it at Queens Park or Clyde level. Youth football is really 90% of guys making up the numbers for 10% who are going to do it as a job so what those guys do never really matters in the end.

All we really get to see is the coaching, to me both teams played pretty basic football, you can tell they tried to keep it on the deck but they were not very effective at passing and moving it was totally average play.

Read what I said again in context! I said our team are in a strong position but imo I still think that there's a general lack of aggression at times. Our last game was a bit lacklustre for me. I'm not a Sevco cheerleader but I see something in them at times and in other teams we've played against that there's a real hunger to win. I'm not suggesting we adopt their tactics of kicking folk all over the park but I think at times we are lacking real spark. Scott Brown is the exception as he just goes for it in almost every game.

He was the tall boy up top , the American. His gait and style was very similair to big Sutty's. That bullet header that got disallowed aswell was reminiscent.

I had never even heard of him, they did say he was American though. Looks really good, just had that touch and vision on the ball and the way he controlled it and his body shape. I don't think he had the ball took off him once, was drifting past players with ease and always played the right ball. Took the two goals well also.

Feel bad slaughtering the young lad but that right back is never making it here no matter how much coaching we give him. We’d be as well releasing him just now as it’s pointless.

The best team in the country should be capable of recruiting a good attacking right back for the youth setup, be it from another Scottish youth team or abroad.
