I am currently driving an 03 Ford Fiesta Finesse but looking to upgrade - possibly a BMW 3 series but seem to be finding a few people as of late having problems. Might end up sticking to driving a Ford - a newer one of course.

    So what do you drive?

A guy at work has a 14 plate 320 and something went on his engine and needed a complete rebuild.

Another mate is a mechanic and owns an 09 320 and had told me about issues with suspension.

Another has owned one for over a year but hasn't had any problems and keeps telling me to get one

    99 Civic hatchback - V-Tech yo!

Driven a 2004 BMW 330 and a 2005 330CI. Lovely to look at but found the feel and ride of them overrated actually. Also expensive to maintain at the end of the day, including me doing alot of the work myself.

Would look elsewhere, but all up to your preference of course!

My missus just got this last month:

Only has 2 passenger seats in the back. Probably could get three in but there's only 2 seatbelts in the back. Couldn't find a picture in it in the silver we got.

15 plate Seat Leon tdi. Big boring thing but has 4 doors and a decent size boot which is some difference from a Cooper S with 2 doors and a boot you were lucky to fit 2 bags of shopping in. Great fun wee car, constant issues with it though.

    Honda civic.

    * bulletproof. Had him for 9 years replaced brakes, and both rear calipers and the odd drop link and 1 shock in the time iv owned it. What a car. I want the new mental spaceship jaggy one that's just out, but I'll wait for it to half price in 3 years first. By then itll be 12 years and honestly, no worries at all, I know it will be fine.

But aye, the aircon broke after 8 years. Total *. Punt.

35924704.jpg BMW 430d. Had several BMW's over the years and never had much of a problem with them. Just your luck I suppose.

Not really into cars but I'm liking the Volvo. Not had an issue with it yet.

Used to have a Focus and then when kids got bigger down sized to a sporty Fiesta as was 99% of the time just me or me +1 in the car going places, and if ever the 4x of us went anywhere was fine too as they’re bigger than they used to be in the back and kids were happy space wise. Ford’s are great value for money, personally found them really reliable and cheap-ish to repair if have any problems, so a great buy.

When we found out that 4x would become 5x and had to get something bigger I bought a VW Golf SE TDI, cracking car and now can’t imagine driving something else as the Golf is usually the benchmark and what every hatchback and family car is compared to. But like BMW you pay a lot more compared to a Ford and just waiting for something to go wrong and the cost to repair it, then I probably won’t have the same view that I can’t imagine driving anything else.

You must have been one of the originals on here.
Were you only 12, or doesn’t it update your birthday?

Got a vw golf, great car, I'm a season ticket holder and drive up from Leeds about 30 times a year, on checking oil this last year I've never had to top it up, think the car makes its own oil or the engine is excellent. Don't open the windows in the rain as water gets in and couldn't shut the window, missed a game as wasn't driving to Glasgow in February with the window fully open.
