Completely disagree with the idea VAR has ruined games that last night was a fantastic spectacle and the correct decisions were made so really don't see the big deal. In a few years time it will be much faster and nobody will give a *. The only thing they need to sort is how they deal with handballs in the box.

Only thing with VAR is it is affecting the game as well, linesman don't call tight offsides any more these last few CL games loads of offsides have went unpunished and then teams were allowed to continue play and win corners and freekicks and stuff and they don't care about that now they just play on they don't go back and say it was offside 1 minute ago go back an restart play.

So they either need to check every single offside for VAR asap or do away with VAR.

The future of VAR might just be all refereeing is done from Refs watching TV and the Ref on the park is only there to point out the decisions. That way the entire game is refereed as quickly as a normal Ref and there would be no hold ups would also cut out throw ins and corners being given to the wrong team which happens in near enough every game.

Those were the WORST fan celebrations I've ever seen. You're team has just scored to send them into the semi-finals of the CL, they didn't know it would be chalked off then, and they celebrate like that? We celebrate like that when we score in a meaningless friendly. I'd be embarrassed watching that if that was my team.

I can see it being Ajax V Liverpool.

Think they look the two fresher teams playing with confidence, Barca have weaknesses that are strengths of Liverpool. Barca to beat Liverpool I think will have to be almost perfect over the two games where as Liverpool can defend well and are really dangerous on the counter and are more likely to just pull goals out the bag a bit like Spurs against Man City there, City looked comfortable the entire two games but they need to be very creative and make few mistakes to break teams down and get goals where as Spurs could just launch a ball forward and get one out the blue.

A help to Barca is that their League games can be used as training session where as Liverpool are going to be run into the ground in every game left this season and under a lot of pressure.

VAR is the best thing to happen to football since they introduced the rule that prevents pass backs. It's a complete non-argument that it takes any of the magic away from the game.

Don't you think there will be the equivalent of Hawkeye when TV reviews always show a line at the point of contact of the ball? It seems far too obvious to ignore. I mean I can see that happening before I can see VAR being abandoned.

Similar to tennis, the offside decision can be shown on the big screen an the line across the pitch so fans can see proof of the decision and allay any fears of prejudice which does happen with big clubs, it's human nature.

:56: :eek1:  After all those celebrations that is cruel as * but funny as *, poor Pep put his heart and soul into that :poster_oo

Spurs vs Ajax should be an interesting one.

Spurs are without Kane and Son though so you have to fancy Ajax to get something.

I don't think I have watched a Champions League game since our last game in it and if you told me then that the next time I would watch a game in it I would be supporting Ajax I would have assumed we had * up massively and the Huns had stopped us well before ten!
I have always hated the *, but it would be wonderful for the game of football if they could at least make the final. Not a single team from outside the 'big 5' leagues has made a semi-final since PSV in 05, which was the last time there was even a pretence of meritocracy in football.

From our point of view, Ajax's structure and shopping lists may be different from ours, but it does give us, and all the other big clubs at a geographical disadvantage of not coming from England/Spain/Italy/France, genuine hope. I had pretty much given up on this competition because of a lack of competition. It is made that a club I have always disliked, for a variety of reasons, have given me fleeting hope and a renewed interest.
