For the goal at Easter Road, assist for Edouard in the hun game and goal at Hampden vs Aberdeen it has to be his now.

I voted McGregor because I really couldn't separate them but I think Forrest just nicks it with that goal at the weekend.

Scott Sinclair has scored 17 goals from midfield, many of them winners. Aberdeen twice in 1-0 wins and a hatrick in the 4-3. Got the winner out in Rosenborg 0-1. Those goals will need replacing if people want shot of him.

Kieran Tierney reckons James Forrest is in such
frightening form the Celtic attacker is even terrifying his team-mates in training.

Hoops flying machine Forrest fired a sensational opener in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final crushing of Aberdeen – just a fortnight after his match winning heroics in the Old Firm win.

Tierney has watched the winger tormenting defences and he admitted even he is tempted to stay out of his Parkhead pal’s way at Lennoxtown.

He said: “James’s form is scary. He has had a
brilliant season.

For his goal last Sunday, I was actually screaming for the ball and next thing I know I’m running towards him to say, ‘good job, Jamsie’.

“I am running out of compliments for him because we are
complimenting him every week now.

He’s scoring goals, getting assists and it really is fantastic to have a player like him in your team.

“James has scored great goals and important goals this season. That shows how good a player he is.

“He is one of the best players I have ever played with. I hate playing against him in training because he’s just so difficult to go up against.

I’m so pleased for him. He’s such a hard worker. He is one that keeps his head down, he doesn’t like the headlines, he is happy to get on with his football. He’s a special player.”

Forrest might not like hogging the back pages of the papers but there will be nowhere to hide if he hoovers up the player of the year award.

There’s every chance as well, as the big game performances have caught the eye along with his stunning stats.

The wide man –who lashed five goals in two games last autumn to fire
Scotland to the Euro 2020 play-offs – has scored 17 goals this season and provided 20 assists.

Those blockbuster numbers have made him a favourite for the top awards and Tierney believes Forrest will be the man to beat.

He said: “He is of course a
candidate for player of the year. That is 100 percent. We have a few in here who could win it. Callum McGregor is another one.

That will be a tough one to call. But they would be my top two.

“You know what you’re going to get from James in every game and it doesn’t matter what position he is played in.

“The consistency he has shown over recent years has been brilliant, especially for a winger. It’s such a difficult position to play.

“In so many games now he’s getting doubled up on because they know he’s such a threat and he still manages to find space and take men on.

“He is a joy for all of us to play in the same team as him.

“James is always looking for the ball – we want him on the ball.

That was our instruction, if we get the ball and James is there give him it and watch him go.

“He is that good. James can deal with what any team can do against him. Sunday was another great performance.”

Forrest hit the Hampden heights again as Celtic sent Aberdeen over the edge in the semi-final.

should definitely be considered a modern day great. his contributions especially the last few seasons have been remarkable

his biggest turnaround was when he stopped playing with his hair every 2 mins

mental that the *'s no even got a proper song :56:

no even- one jimmy forrest, there's only one jimmy forrest, one jimmy forrrrrrest (jamesy isn't the same)

my effort to tune of mcgeady's song, simple:

    he shoots on sight,
    he plays on the right,
    james forrest,
    loves the green and white

Messi has 45 goals and 22 assists, this season. Forrest has 17 goals and 20 assists.

    Edit:

In Europe, Messi has 10 goals and 3 assists. Forrest has 2 goals and 7 assists.

Some body wrote that James forrest had the highest goals and assists ratio in europe and I was arguing this with my friend who is a hun and he produced a table with Tavernier having far more assists. Complete riddy! I wish I would have done my homework before posting *!

    He's Jamesy Forrest!
    Better than all the rest,
    Better than anyone,
He even scored against the scum,
    He's Jamesy Forrest...

To the tune of Tina Turner. :92:
