Well the majority on here (over 70%) want somebody else, so for you to find it "unfathomable" is a bit extreme unless you really are that blinkered. There are plenty of reasons to be skeptical about Lenny, and there are reasons to argue he would make a good appointment. Everyone is entitled to their view on it.

Specifically why should we be skeptical about Lennon. Like it or not Rodgers spent more money in less time than Lennon to achieve a double treble (starting a potential treble treble).

With the resources Lennon was given he achieved great things.

This whole idea that Lennon isn't in the same class as some of the names mentioned is nonsense.

People talking about that rose guys until recently. Have you actually ever googled that man's records. Against his actual spends it's not exactly miraculous.

Lennon has managed one of the biggest clubs in Europe in his career. He done a great job of it too.

For the "70%" that want someone else, I would have to ask who exactly? Who will would guarantee more success than Neil Lennon. Every appointment is a gamble granted, but we know exactly what Lennon is capable of. And am extremely excited Lennon to bring in his next wave of signings.

Listing, Izzy, rogic and Griffith's are still in the team and played a huge part in the treble treble success remember - Lennon signings.

We have take a large part of recent profits from Lennon signings. Vvd, wanyama, Frazer, hooper.

He is a brilliant manager. I personally don't want to gamble on someone else because they had a good run elsewhere.

You should remember there was a time where every Celtic fan wanted the likes of Owen coyle, David Moyes or Roy Keane ahead of Lennon. And back then most fancied those options more than Lennon. And here we find ourselves in a very similar position again...

People have stated their reasons for not wanting Lennon , myself included. They are made clearly throughout this thread. If you can't accept that , that's fine. You're not going to change peoples minds with your post, we all know the good things he has done , we all know the poor things aswell. On balance , some of us are for him , and most of us aren't. If you really are insisting on a "why" , read through the thread.

It’s not a ‘no brainer’, though. If there are better candidates available then it’s an avenue the club should explore. Fans wanting to see the club make a positive appointment isn’t reason enough to tell people to get a grip, imo.

The yes Lennon camp are making alot of hyperbole ( no brainer , unfathomable he doesnt get the job , get a grip etc ) on what is a clearly debateable subject.

I probably want to see Lenny achieve this more than anything else since our near miss in Seville.

I hope he does enough now to convince doubters that our team is in good hands with him calling the shots.
(wishful thinking on my part I know)

I mean somebody is going to be there for that day, right ?......I just want it to be one of our own and someone who truly does have our club at heart.....for real !!

Harlots and charlatans need not apply !

Whether Lennon is the man to take us to 10 is a valid debate. One I am on the side of yes on but a valid debate nonetheless. But to just bash Lennon considering what he has gone through as a Celtic player, Captain and a manager is unacceptable. He is a Celtic man blood sweat and tears to the core and personally I firmly believe he can lead us to 10.

Fair enough. One last question though. Given there was a time as a support we fancied the likes of Moyes, Keane or coyle more than Lennon. Do you not concede we are pretty much in exactly the same situation. Do you not concede that potentially the best answer for the managers job is sat right in front of us?

Seems to me the biggest issue some take with Lennon is his record in hampden. But the fact remains, his second stint here is 100% so far...

As I said in another thread he would be my no. 1 to do it, into the bargain he started the 1st, imagine him finishing it.
