Wouldn’t want him back, but he comes across as a right decent guy from that interview. Loved the insights, Ferry does ask questions fans want to know the answers to.

With that said the narrative was ‘we forced him out’, and while he can say that he wanted to stay, ultimately he admitted leaving because he wanted to play in the EPL. He could have stayed if he really wanted to.

I thought he was a good player for us.

I wouldn't want to be going down the Hun route of bringing back ex-players who are passed their prime, though. It hardly ever works out.

Would love to see him back, such a tidy no nonsense player, never with the flashy stuff, broke up play and kept it simple.

He is a year younger than Brown, granted he hasn’t played as much football as Brown recently but he never looks out of shape.

An experienced cool head, really couldn’t see what harm it would do.

Considering we have the likes of Kouassi on the books I know who I would rather have.

I'll watch the interview at some point this week but this line that he repeatedly trots out that he was ready to sign a contract extension is clear bullshit. It was on the table for months without being signed.

Lennon on the 20th December 2013 (other player was Samaras):

"The ball is all very much in their court," said the manager. "It's getting to the point where there will be a lot of speculation.

"We've made it clear that we are willing to speak them and we have spoken to Joe already on the situation, but we've heard nothing back.

"The contracts are up in the summer and they are two players we don't want to go, but we can't force them to stay.

"We are doing everything we can at the minute to do that.

"We have had no indication either way of what the players want to do.

"It's a difficult situation for us and for them. We spoke to both of them personally a while back but had nothing back since."

Sammy, Mulgrew and Forrest were out of the Dundee united game, most likely Charlie :56:

Love him, comes across a really decent guy in that interview.

When you look at our injury problems at the minute and some of the dross we have stinking out the squad he wouldn't be a terrible option to come in as an Izzy style back up if the money was right. That being said I would imagine he's at the stage of his career now where he's looking to play regularly which we couldn't offer him.

Actually changed my mind, wanted to go to the premier league and used us a stepping stone to get there, then realised the league he dreamt of playing in wasn't all it was cracked up to be and now he finds himself as a free agent because no * wants to spend 40-50 grand a week on wages for a guy who is no longer of use to Derby * County. I have no doubt he could find himself another mid table club in the championship, but we already have a holding midfielder whos in his 30s with premier league and championship experience who probably has a bit of fire in the belly to prove the previous manager wrong.

That has nothing to do with lack of ability though. If he had that attitude/mentality of Ledley he'd already be playing regularly at a higher level than Celtic.

Just watched it there and his story about leaving didn’t seem genuine to me.

It seemed pretty clear that he was running down his contract to leave in the summer at his leisure, so we shifted him for what little return we could get. He did the same thing to cardiff that's how we get him for nothing, his boyhood club, so why would he have the sentiment not to do it to us, he's a mercenary.

Can you imagine if the likes of KT, Forrest or Mcgregor did that, their threads on here would be a riot.

As clear as day. We sold him on the last day of the January transfer window, yet somehow Celtic sold him against his will :87:

Brilliant player for us, gave his all, chased the big money (which was his right to do), now the big money has dried up he's talking about us again. No thanks.
