Davies, Toure and Driscoll are all offski with him, which is a shame as I really like Davies.

Hopefully he’ll take his pal Congerton though.

No he's taking the new fancy lights though, it was probably his promised transfer budget he never got

No doubt but the structure they work under is flawed. Until that changes then this cycle of 2 steps forward, 2 steps back will keep going on.

It's been mitigated by the fantastic manager we've had the last 2.5 years, who has managed to win every single domestic trophy under it. The rumour was Lawwell wanted Stubbs.

Before that it was the undoing in Europe for Lennon once Wanyama, Forster & Hooper were sold without replacing.

It resulted in the project of Deila. A cheap punt that could be controlled due to his lack of standing in the game. Signings such as Kazim-Richards & Cole on bosmans while parts of the stadium lay empty and under a banner.

It resulted in us refusing to back Strachan to get Fletcher when we were going for 4 in a row.

The problem there is that Armstrong became an EPL class player on wages down there we couldn't match and Dembele went to Lyon for £20m they became players we couldn't financially keep, to replace them we would have to spend similar
. We're lucky in that we already have decent midfielders so replacing Armstrong wasn't a priority. In Dembele's case we had Edouard who came in for £9m and Bayo in January for £2m? So we have basically replaced him, considering we only spent £500k on Dembele in the first place. I don't know where all this Rodgers hasn't been backed stuff is coming from because the transfer policy hasn't changed since the day he walked through the door

You are comparing two managers at a time when the level of competition was completley different.
We got to the CL 2/3 seasons under BR, but we should have made it this year given that a very average AEK Athens made it, effective in our place.
We cant use the money excuse when we get put out by teams who spend far less than us, in recent seasons those teams were Malmo, AEK, maribor, legia, to name a few.
We achieved last 16 with a defence that cost next to nothing. Lustig, matthews, wilson, ambrose.
We are certainly capable of better than what we achieved in europe this season.

Congerton can get tae * as well I hope.

It's a shame he's decided to leave at this time and I wish him all the best. I cant see it working at Leicester for anyone really. If they can win the league for the first time in forever and then sack the manager the following year, then they are a club of mentalists.

However well he does - the best he can hope for in budget terms is middle of the table mediocrity. They will NEVER repeat what they did a couple of years ago and he will never European football.

I've heard from people who have heard him speak that he is totally money orientated so wouldn't be surprised if it's simply the wage packet that's driven his decision. What an utter * of a man to leave his supposed boyhood club half way through the only season where he's been slightly challenged in the league. I always respected his achievements without being a big fan of the man, he delivered some great memories but he could have stayed and been the 10 IAR hero, had a statue built to him etc. But nah he decided to * off to the * King Power Stadium to try and secure 10th spot in the English premiership. Loyalty is dead football is dead. Get Neil back in and maybe play some actually exciting to watch football again rather than the boring pass it around the back *.

The board are responsible for most of this, it's an all to common theme with them, it just so happens Rodgers is the calibre of manager that teams in EPL will want to enquire about.

So Rodgers has the options to go if he feels like he's getting mugged off, something Lennon couldn't really do. Rodgers is a level of manager you don't * about with and promise everything to deliver nothing. That level of manager will leave and have no shortage of options to go to.

The timing is rotten and does tarnish what Rodgers has achieved and likely would have achieved and the end of this season but without knowing everything that goes on behind the scene I assume he's and Lawwell must have had to had the mother of all falling outs for him to consider leaving right now when he's so close to being a cemented legend in our history.
