Stayed in Gorballs a few years ago just next to the college when I was still a student, some nice gaffs about there and the area is getting much better.

If you’ve got the money though go up the west end.

Aye, there's pockets of students and professionals there but the place is crawling with them. Pretty much every pub on Duke Street is a hun shitehole. Bar Redmonds. They had Union Jack/Red Hand of Ulster bunting hanging between window sills for the 12th of July a few years back.

Some nutjob on the 41 bus that had a scalpel masking taped onto a flagpole trying to cut them down. Everyone on the bus was shaking their head and tutting at him. I gave him an "Oan yersel" as I was getting off.

I’ve never really counted Duke Street as Dennistoun, it’s a place on it’s own. Always been a distinction between the areas when talking. * knows though.

Not everyone has 10 or even 5 per cent deposit sitting to get a mortgage.

Cos it's the middle of another housing bubble.

Also when you buy a house you need a whole lot more than just the mortgage, you have insurance and maintenance to worry about.

Stuff like building insurance is compulsory if you're getting a mortgage though. I never had any insurance while I was renting.

Buildings Insurance is completely immaterial in comparison with requiring a hefty deposit.

    It’s pennies.
