Remember the line...'North men South men comrades all soon there'll be no Protestant's at all ' ? :56:

That was another one that used to make me cringe and * myself laughing all the time.

I always think Tommy Wright comes across as an ok kind of guy.
Couldn't ever imagine him being an Orangeman.
That's maybe me being naive though.

I'd give more time to Tommy Wright than I would Andy Walker.

That one I will give you. Had no time for that myself although I had never heard those lines to the song until I went to Celtic Park as obviously they aren't in the original. No a fan of the original version anyway. A free state marching song.

I 100% agree that should not be sung at Celtic Park for me. Although I really can't remember the last time it was so I am not really sure how relevant it is.

I couldn't remember it at the old ground but do remember it going for a few years from first year at new ground after Hampden, but can't remember it much and if at all after MO years, I did give up my book around 2004.

I just stuck my middle finger up and shouted a few obscenities at that point of the song being a *, lol.

Like I said I am not a fan of the original song but this version is the exact opposite of what the original version is about.

"North men South men comrades all
    Dublin, Belfast,Cork and Donegal"

The song is actually about bringing people together. I have not and would never sing anything about Protestants. I do though draw a distinction between Protestants and Orangemen.

Yeah mate that's the words I knew of.

Tbh me and my mate were both protestants and went with our other mate who was Catholic and his Bro, they sang the proper version, actually we sang it too, lol, and honestly I wasn't bothering my * we just did our wee bit when that part was sung as a laugh.

    Spot on mate.

I do not hate anyone's religion. However I can't stand an organisation that is specifically around to hate/exclude Catholics. That is * bizarre but readily accepted in this country as just the norm.

Only 30 years ago, a dead, defunct club had a bigoted/sectarian/racist signing policy and no one batted an eyelid.

Our songs are about hope, joy and freedom. Theirs are about hate, bigotry, child abuse, racism...to name a few.

Not even sure what my point was but there you go.
