The westend used to be Hillhead/Byres Road area. I've seen places for rent and sale touted as westend in * Yoker Langy, Shafton etc. Think anywhere west of the city comes under that bracket now if you're trying to punt a gaff. Fair enough if you get some * daft enough to pay westend prices.

10 mins walk from west end & city centre. Lidl across the street. Handy for bus and subway. Some good pubs/restaurants nearby.

I've always found Langy to be the better side of the Yoker/Renfrew ferry.

All the schemes are very calm compared to what they were 10 years ago.

I've never been to Milton but working class area's always have the best people.

I work between Port Dundas and Milton and a lot of the boys I work with are from Possil/Milton.

I don’t deny for a second it’s calmed down but as the death of one of our old engineers who died a few years ago and his pal who died a matter of weeks ago on Balmore Rd, it’s still very much a cesspit of violence on the streets.

There is a great charity that works in Glasgow that works in lots of schemes .Andy Mclaren and his mate started it just with organising football on a friday night with boys from around 8 years old upto 21.Kept them off the streets and it made a great difference to their lives .I think Andy has recently left .The infamous Paul Slane (google if you dont know him )was also one of the coaches and you used to see the boys have some laugh .Tournements are organised from schemes all over

it has now grown arms and legs and does all sorts my daughter went to the A& M DANCING for a good few years
Never cost a penny and in the summer runs football and dance classes for kids and provides lunches ect F.O.C.

IF you ever have a spare penny its a great charity to donate to
