He was pretty impressive, holding his own against that type of opposition speaks volumes. His crossing is still dreadful but overall he was probably our best.

Boyata is the darkie chap & Jozo isn’t, how bad was your stream?

Tiredness will have played a part as well, he had run himself ragged. Best game he’s had for us & deserves a lot of the praise he’s getting.

I was even happy how he “took the booking” for the team

He’s not the most talented, he never will be but * * he runs himself into the ground for the cause, can never knock him and wish more had his attitude

That’s “sensible” play. We don’t have enough players like that IMO. Most I think would let the opposition run on. Would help us be more street wise in Europe.

Only thing I’ll say is he was up against a player playing out of position. But a very good player none the less.

I don't think we need a LB in domestic football really. If we lined up that way Hayes and Sinclair could terrorise teams on the left. Toljan pushing up with Forrest. I don't see a need for 4 at the back against the likes of the zombies and Aberdeen etc.

Still could have got a result. McGregor goal offside by fractions. And that was us at our worst...

I think Brendan has woven his magic around him. He certainly knows how to get the best out of a player.

He was flying for the sheep before Rodgers signed him. He's actually regressed in his time here. Another who we signed and then is rarely seen again. Hopefully this is the start of him getting a well deserved run of games to show what he can do. Brendan working his magic has not been the case for Jonny Hayes during his time here, he's barely played him!

The thing I like about Hayes is he is never a man short when he’s on the pitch, he leaves everything out there. He’s a useful guy to have and it’s just a shame he had his leg break when he was coming onto form.

I wouldn’t fancy Hayes and Sinclair away at the Huns or even Hearts away.

That’s not to say, I don’t think he’s decent domestic cover, he’s won me over in that respect. However if you want to be a top club we need better.

If Hayes started at the shitpit at left back allowing McGregor to play in his own position, we wouldn’t have lost the game.

    Agreed..

But he’s not a defender and in those games you need to defend sometimes, especially if Sinclair is playing front of you.

Thats fair and I agree. But for me as I have said before given the massive load of games we play in a season now at about 60 a season we need a squad and especially we need cover for our top players. That is hard to find at a price we can afford and still have good quality for most domestic games. Hayes for me at any rate has clearly show he is the man to look at for now and for next season to give Tierney some breaks so he does not have to keep playing the insane load of games he has played in recent seasons as well of course as being cover in the case of a suspension or an injury.
