    Alright everyone?

Since a lot of you guys on here either have or do live in Glasgow (I think?), I thought I would ask about which areas are nice to live in. Preferably areas which are close to the city centre either by walking or close to transport links.

What areas should be avoided? Any unsafe areas I should be aware of?

I do not really know the area that well and I will be looking to move to Glasgow at some point this year.
For rent, I would be paying max £750pm.

Anywhere that's 750 a month in Glasgow will be fine.

Probably Aberdeen, direct train link with centre of Glasgow allowing for a commute, you might need to pay more in rent though :giggle1:

Is the £750 a month max including council tax and bills etc or just purely rent?

I liked Partick when I stayed there, also Cathcart on the south side was decent.

But if your max for rent is £750 then you could get yourself a pad right bang in the city centre.

For £750pm will rent you my spare bedroom. Good bus service direct to the city and Celtic Park. Train station also takes you into Queen Street. Not far from West end Partick. :36:

I just left Firhill (right next to the stadium). Rent there is in the region of £700pm for a furnished 2 bed.
Commute links are pretty solid. 10 min walk to the subway, or 20 mins walk to the city centre. Otherwise the bus' to town are every 10/15 mins on Maryhill Rd.

Its a 5 min walk to the west end via quen Margaret Drive.

Can't really go wrong. Mainly student rentals up there now but it was super quiet and the canal is good for a walk/run.

Only downside is if you drive and there's home games on. Fans just park outside your house, even if it's private parking- uses to drive me mental.

The thing is that's only an OK/decent neck of the woods. Prices are going to climb when you jump up postcodes from there. Glasgow isn't really cheap to live without being twinned with a * pit.

Aye, £750 would you get you a nice place in Glasgow no bother.

Edinburgh on the other hand... paying more than that for a tiny place at the moment. It's nuts. Paying almost double what I was in Glasgow.

Honestly mate. It's gone mental. Benview St recently had a 2 bed fixer upper for 140k and was gone within the week.

It's surrounded by some of the most deprived areas in Glasgow.

I ran about possil and ruchill in my youth. I deffo wouldn't be paying 750 a month to stay there.
