As before, zero point in rushing him back even if he himself is chomping at the leash.

Brendan Rodgers has not ruled Kieran Tierney out of a second-leg appearance against Valencia in the Europa League.

Celtic host the Spaniards this evening in the opening leg of the tie, a game that has come too soon for Tierney.

However, while the Scotland internationalist will have to watch from the sidelines he could have a more prominent role for the return leg next week.

“That’s [the second leg] maybe a possibility but we’ll just test him over the next week or so,” said Rodgers.

He’s looked very good in the last couple of days in training but he’s literally just re-joined the squad. There will be a point over the next couple of weeks when we can bring him in. He looks really strong but it would be unfair to bring him into a game of this magnitude after a week or so training.

“He’s desperate to play and that’s where he’s gaining experience because he also knows he has to look after his body as well.

Such focus, no one is getting in his way when he's fit. Can't wait. Love how he's a fan and treats it as precious as a fan. Him and McGregor always have good interplay though that'll be next game hopefully, doubt he's ready now. Unless it's a close score late on. Actually no, I don't want to risk him at all, fully fit or on the bench ye sit.

Mestalla has a plastic pitch? :43:

Brendan is correct not to rush KT back no matter how many times KT has been banging on his door. KT is still young , rushing him back could have long term effects not just on his career but his overall well being. KT will come back more determined than ever and will hit form straight away, remember how he same back from breaking his leg? This is no doubt a big game but not the most important, I would rather have KT fit and up and running for the games that will give us Triple Treble.

Right move, shouldn't rush him back even if he's desperate to get stuck in, as important a part of the team he is and as great a result against Valencia would be it's not the priority at this point, make sure he's recovered properly for the rest of the domestic season.

Just ease him back, we've coped well enough without him, but getting him back will be a huge boost to the team and sure he'll be busting a gut to get back just that type of injury don't want to risk it too much.
