No it isn't we hold ourselves back, if our league was better we wouldn't get a chance at the champions League in the first place

We only got this far by a fluke result, not of our making, we have been exposed tonight, we simply are not in the same class as Valencia. Will be there next week! I hope we can at least get a goal

Exactly, especially given the pace and quality in our forwards and attacking midfielders. Our weak point should be set up better in Europe ie our back line. Though agree with Sutton we don’t have a recognised striker, Edouard isn’t a number 9.

For me the blame for that tonight lies solely with Brendan. Not the team selection that was what most of us would have picked before the game, and I understand we have a few players out, but at this level it is all about the manager setting out the team that can beat the opponent. You look at Valencia, their coach obviously had us watched and knew our two centre backs couldnt pass the ball forward to hurt them. Give them the ball and we will mark McGregor and Christie (the players that can hurt us) and we will stiffen you on counter when your two CB’s are out of position. We just tried to play and play and play, yet they had two banks of four going to a 4-3-3 to press and we were fecked. Yes Brendan couldn’t come up with a plan to break those lines.

Let’s be honest any one of us could have put a team out in the last 5-7 years and won the league.

We don’t need to be tactically aware in the SPFL cause the teams are hard working but mostly gash. Tommy Wright even admitted after the game at the weekend, he has players that aren’t as good, aren’t as strong aren’t as fast as Celtic. Anyone of us could pick 11 of the current squad against most teams in the SPFL and win. Especially at Celtic Park.

Brendan tonight and on our occasions in Europe has been schooled. Under Martin O’Neil, Gordon Strachan, Neil Lennon you went to Celtic Park on European nights expecting to win. You just knew ANY team wasn’t going to get it easy.

Tonight for me, Valencia were on easy street, no momentum, no first 20 minutes we are doing this, no ‘You
    Shall not pass” aka Waynama.

We need to grow a set, and fast we need to get back to CP being a place no one likes to come. Tonight Valencia could have turned up in slippers read the paper had a cigar and watched “The Chase” and still scored.

    Trolling fud :celt_2:
It's exactly as u say there , we had the responsability to try to create and take something over to Spain, I'm quite sure their set up woulda been exactly the same if the first game was at their ground , they kept a tight shape and forced us to make mistakes which the took advantage of , similar to real Madrid last night all about efficiency, waiting and pouncing on any mistake .

Tonnes of slick (if panicked at times ) passing, but our level is not as good as some of our fans seem to demand or presume it is. You play against dross every week, it's not preparing you for the big guns. Although tbh, I thought passing-wise we were ok. Zero threat up front but.

Harsh reality is that players like McGregor, brown and Christie are great in Scotland but far short of what we’d need to go further in Europe.

I can 100% take getting beat by a team or performance like Salzburg. You come out that game and think “* they are a good side” but a game like tonight. Valencia just stood off us and almost just mocked how technically inept we are at this level. * laughable, pathetic pish. Some players in that team think they have made it cause they can beat livi 5-0 at home.

I think McGregor could step up as could Tierney and Forrest. But we have some amount of average players on big wages.

Aye, he is. I think he might have worked that booking for time wasting to clear his record for the last 16.
