Following that logic mate he should have just hung up his boots completley after scoring an injury time solo goal to win the treble :fear:

Aww for fucksake. We need our best players available to have a chance against Valencia. Instead our most important players are dropping like flies which is normally the case before an important European game, Benkovic is a huge loss.

Rogic had a knee problem before he went to the Asia cup that's why he never played in the friendly before it as Celtic had asked for him to be rested because of it might well be one that has been getting worse over time and the club may feel that it's better to get it sorted now to avoid longer time out of he keeps playing with the injury

Not worrying but it’s almost a third of our season he missed, in terms of matches.

36 matches the season before, and it’ll probably be about 30-35 games this season as well.

At a glance it seems like a fair amount but we play around 55-60 games a season. He’s consistently missing big chunks.

The way he plays with trickery & fast feet will mean he gets some * tackling & injuries.
Nearly every skilful players going back will have had injury issues over the course of their career, * me he doesn’t even look the right build to be doing what he does with his feet.
Just enjoy what we get from him. I assume some of those games he missed were through international breaks & also BR resting him.

He could stop doing the tricks & play the whole season possibly!!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again...

Tam wants to play for Australia (especially in big tournaments) so don't blame anyone but the player if he insists on making himself available.

BTW, Tam's knee has been * for months and he's been playing with injections long before he went to the Asian Cup. I understand the disappointment when he's out injured, but get a grip.

Surprised it hasn't been said yet: is no one else thinking what I am? All our very few good Eurooean performances under Brendan have the common factor of a fully fit Tom Rogic.

In European terms we are a very limited team without him or when he is carrying an injury, which seems to be most of the time.

Disagree completely with that, can count maybe 7 times where he has played well in Europe in the 41 matches he has played. He's scored 3 goals in all those games, 2 against Linfield and the other Beer Sheva and 2 assists. Man City, Anderlecht away, Linfield home, Astana home, Beer Sheva home, 7/10 game against Leipzig at home and that's all I can recall where he has performed well. Sure there is more to the number 10 role than just goals and assists but you need to influence the game in some way (which imo rarely happens in Europe for him)- probably down to his pace and how fast he fatigues throughout the game.

He was in the squad against Athens for both games and showed nothing, and his last game v Red Bull was poor as well, doubt he would've done anything against Valencia. Great player to have for the league but in Europe I would rather have McGregor in that role as of right now.
