He's probably one of those * that will end up down south and moving about over his career for much much more and will do reasonably well.

We need someone who is no nonsense at the back mate 100%. Big Bobo was a bit of a bombscare with the ball at his feet, but by * he's still probably in my top 3 Celtic CB's of all time.

And see really, if we WERE to sign him for...say...£6m, he'd probably be on something like a 4-5 year contract.

We've spent seasons putting out well over a £1m each season trying to find a CB (be it permanent or loans) and we still end up getting Compper-ed.

Best just to get him in the now, let him build up a partnership with Ajer and let them blossom.

Aberdeen are banking on this * going for huge money to help pay for the stadium. As soon as he got his international cap they started slapping insane price tags on him and will stick to their guns.

    He is * poor.

We should give Aberdeen Hayes and Compper.

    And loan them Ralston.

That'll get the price for McKenna down to about £18m.

    I completely disagree with this.

Your argument is exactly the same as those who supported the signings of Hendry, Hayes and Morgan etc. We should have learnt our lesson by now.

The ambition for Celtic should be to make strides in Europe, and signing diddies like McKenna to replace Boyata, Benkovic and even Simunovic won’t help us achieve that.

I don't blame them for trying to get a good price for a prized asset, tbf.

    I'm glad they're doing it.

There's a difference between looking for a good price for your asset and having a realistic concept of his value..

That’s gone way out the window with player valuations down South, the sheep know a championship team will come in and offer serious money where as we look to get value for money with our buys.

It’s mental but teams down South have more money than sense, even * Championship teams who gamble Millions trying to get into the EPL.

Virgil was a steal for Southampton but the market has gotten hugely inflated since we sold him. We sold Armstrong for 8M on the last year of his contract, not comparing him and McKenna but 7/8M is * all to these teams now.

He's 21 (I think), contracted until 2023, happy enough where he is and is a full international, with youth level captaincy under his belt. The club don't want to sell, and shouldn't take anything less than a whopping offer. That's just having self-respect, and not being anybody's *. We'd do the same
