Is it possible to loan our way to success?

If they are quality that we can't afford and it's within reason....yes..

 

I don't mind when we're getting in young top drawer talents we couldn't afford, like Roberts, on long term loans 18-24 months gives the player time to settle in and not feel pressure to be immediately successful and loans are easier to cancel if the player doesn't succeed like Musonda.

I wouldn't like us to be a club relying on a constant stream of 6 month loans to get us to ten in a row, smacks of no long term planning.

 

Aye, a lot of people don't take that into account.

Belgian, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch, Croatian, Turkish etc teams that we usually compete with play far less games than us and they get more breaks between games and more time off in the summer. So when competing with these teams they are much fresher, better rested and likely fitter and injury free than us.

 

Aye our approach definitely has to change after the 8..

We're accepting a raft of 6 month loans now out of necessity and being starved but this can't be the way to carry on..

Our scouting and recruitment network needs a shake up. 2 or 3 loans are still fine though of real quality, as long as they aren't our major business of a window..
