Do you know him personally, are you privy to the details of this case, or are you such a fan of the man himself that you can't allow yourself to believe that he could commit such crimes ?

    * he has just dropped Levein into the mix. He looks like he’d buck a black eye.

Thing is it won't come out. People sign NDA's or non-disclosure agreements.
"Protected disclosures" is the posh name given to whistleblowers.
So in a rape trial people need to be protected for obvious reasons.

I'm guessing "attempted" rape is a grey area and difficult to prove.

Don't be expecting much information to come out other than quotes from the trial.
It won't involve names or anything that puts said victim's name out their for all to see.
Some new litigation set up is coming in, some new ways of dealing with
what is deemed to be a massive problem.

    New legislation is coming in:
    https://www.out-law.com/en/articles/2019/january/expect-uk-workplace-sexual-harassment-code-in-2019/
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-44109060

    https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Victoria_Atkins&oldid=860872197

She's also on the Offenive Weapons Bill Committee
which also has a story today on the 6 o'clock news about knife crime.

Chances are it's been a known fact these guys are a bit sleazy. I once had to set up an A/V business
community breakfast thing where Salmond was coming along and honestly he was treated like
royalty, so i can see how it would be an ego thing.

I expect the attempted rape charges to be dropped simply because it would be difficult to prove,
harassment on the other hand i'm guessing might be easier to prove.

Guess where i traced the origin of the story to, a radio station in Lincolnshire, then weirdly somewhere in Indonesia or somewhere like that. So somewhere between this Atkins Lady and SCL Group is how it went so viral so quickly and the number 1 trending story on the BBC.

I don’t know Craig Gordon personally but I know he cannae kick a fitbaw more than 5 yards.

People who’s professional lives are played out in front of the public are naturally going to have opinions on them.

Salmond is marmite and polarising and he may very well be a predator but I don’t think he is. Personal opinion.

I know that these papers can change their political allegiance like the weather, but this was from a couple of years back:

It's interesting because a person dosen't even need to be found guilty to have their reputation destroyed, and at the same time there could be victims who deserve justice.

We may have a certain political persuasion but we don't really know what that person is like in terms of the way they conduct themselves outwith the public eye.

Someone can come across as sleazy and be perfectly innocent, and it can also work the other way.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Baseless statement - unless, of course, you were there and witnessed each of the allegations?

    Please see previous post.

He was the First Minister of Scotland, not Joe Bloggs fae Castlemilk. I have an opinion on him for a reason, it is anything but ‘baseless’.

If someone accused my best mate of rape I’d have an opinion on that as well, even if I wasn’t present at the point the allegations were made against.

The difference being that you would know his character, what he was like as a person, but you don't really know AS, you probably respect him as a politician, no question he's a clever man and a very good speaker.

I just wonder how many accusers there are and how credible the evidence is.

I've heard he's as sleazy as they come from people that have worked with him, but I never thought it would be this serious.

Again, time till tell and again it’s my personal opinion. It’s neither baseless or because I like him though, truth be told I’m ambivalent to Salmond. I share his want of an independent Scotland, that’s about it.

There are dark forces at play here though, it’s not difficult to smell a rat. ‘No smoke without fire’ or not.
