    From what I’ve seen Sunderland fans say they think he’s good in the box but clueless outside.

    Probably worth a punt on a free, agent seems a bit of a * though.

    Sunderland boss Jack Ross says the Black Cats have received “no concrete offer or interest” in Josh Maja amidst reports that Celtic are interested in the forward.

    Speculation was mounting south of the border earlier this week that the Hoops were keen on landing the 20-year-old frontman. Jack Hendry was mentioned as a makeweight as part of the deal. But Ross said today:

    "It has dragged on a little bit and we need a solution one way or another. As a club, we’ve had no concrete offer or interest for Josh

    No brainer. In fact any deal including paying a development fee is a no brainer. We’d multiply our outlay if we sold him the next day never mind if he comes up and bangs them in.

    Having Edouard, Griffiths, Bayo, Weah and Maja as our strikers seems a bit much tbh, but you can't say no to a player as talanted as maja, really hope we get him in.

    SUNDERLAND are ready to sell Celtic target Josh Maja - if they can get him back on loan.

    The Hoops are showing an interest in the 20-year-old London-born striker who has knocked back an offer of £6,000-per-week by the cash-strapped Wearsiders.

    Maja, who scored his 16th goal of the season in his team’s 1-1 draw at carrot at the weekend, can quit Jack Ross’ Championship side for nothing at the end of the season.

    That has alerted Brendan Rodgers who could snap up the hot prospect in the sort of deal that attracted Moussa Dembele to Parkhead from Fulham in the summer of 2016.

    However, the Black Cats are keen to do business within the next 10 days and accept a fee for the player with a season-long lease-back clause included in the contract.

    However, if Maja runs down his deal, that would allow the Scottish champions to land him for around £500,000 in a cross-border development fee, a similar figure that brought Dembele in a move to the Hoops before his £19.8million August switch to Lyon.

    West Ham are watching developments with Bundesliga outfits Stuttgart, Cologne and Wolfsburg also linked with the attacker.

    Maja had a starring role in Sunderland'* Netflix documentary where his debut goal against Fulham was caught on camera.

    I don’t get it.

    If we sign him to a pre contract he’ll be there until the end of the season anyway.

    If we buy him and loan him back then we’re likely out a pocket.
