As it is, we’ve let him go and play for Australia when he’s not been fully fit, to help Australia. Usually misses the following game for us because of his fitness issues. We do it a * of a lot for them.

Yes and part and parcel of football players is managing their schedule and fitness. We’ve sacrificed quite a lot to accomodate Australia. All I’m saying is we’ll most likely stop doing that now, so my question again is, do you not find that fair?

 

Mate, I'll be serious for a minute (though I don't really want to ). I think his point is that we thought we'd built a relationship of mutual respect and trust, but that if your coach is going to insist on the letter of FIFA rules, we might consider doing the same in future. It's a fair point actually. We do lose an effective Tom Rogic for longer than that 15 days anyway when we let you take him half fit, because he's completely off the pace for a couple of games when he comes back.
